The Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar scholarships are a set of recognition and support given to the students of the institution. These scholarships are benefits given to the candidates who belong to the weaker section of the society. However, the scholarships are mostly merit – cum – means based which states that students will have to justify both the factors if they wish to claim the IIT Bhubaneswar scholarships.
Basically, there are two major types of scholarships that IIT Bhubaneswar offers. These are Merit-cum-Means Scholarships and UG Scholarships. The Merit-cum-Means scholarships will be given to the candidates who are financially weak but are good in academics and have maintained their academic record throughout their educational career. UG Scholarships can be further divided into seven different categories. With a motive to help students of weaker sections and maintain an equilibrium in the society, these seven categorised scholarships have been made available for the candidates. Apart from these scholarships, the candidates can also opt for educational loans. These IIT Bhubaneswar educational loans will help students to finance their education and continue studying. The interested candidates can also opt for the interest-free loan under the Vidyalaxmi Scheme 2017-18. For this, the candidates will have to apply for the interest-free loan from the official website of the institution. The scheme will help aspirants skip the interest rate charged on the educational loans. It will be applicable for the undergraduate first and second-semester students. It is important for the applicants to know that only the ones with annual family income less than 9 lakh will be considered as eligible for the scheme.
The Vidyalaxmi Scheme is funded and supported by the State Bank of India. For this, the candidates need to fill the State Bank of India Education Loan Application Form and submit it along with the asked documents. Aspirants are not restricted to apply for education loans of different private sector or public sector banks. In order to do so, aspirants must clearly understand the interest rate and repayment method before finalising the bank for educational loans.
