VNIT Nagpur BTech is done through JoSAA counselling based on JEE Main scores. The NTA has declared the JEE Main session 2 paper 1 results. JoSAA registration will begin in June and the cutoff for VNIT Nagpur admission in BTech courses will be released round-wise by JoSAA in June as well.
VNIT Nagpur, was established in 1960. On June 26, 2002, the Government of India granted the institute deemed to be university status (under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956)). VNIT Nagpur was previously known as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE) and was set up in 1960. It was one of the 12 institutes chosen by the MHRD, Government of India for the BRICS Network University on behalf of India. VNIT Nagpur has been ranked 12th in the architecture and planning category, 41st in the engineering category, and 82nd in the overall category in the NIRF Ranking List 2023. In 2022, its NIRF Ranking was 8th in the architecture category, 32nd in the engineering category and 68th in the overall category. It has also been ranked in the 1201-1500 band in the overall category in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023.
VNIT Nagpur is well-known for imparting quality education and is ranked fifth among all NITs. The VNIT Nagpur campus is located near Ambazari Lake and is close to the railway station and airport. The campus hosts several annual festivals or activities in which students from various colleges participate. VNIT library is over four decades old and has a three-story building with an extensive collection of books and journals. The VNIT campus's library and information resources centre is automated, and the institute has excellent residential facilities to meet the needs of over a thousand students.
The VNIT campus has seven hostels for boys and four for girls. Each hostel has a phone, sports equipment, a water cooler, a water heater, and well-equipped mess facilities. VNIT hostel has a mess where vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are served. There are sports facilities on the VNIT campus, and the institute organises various tournaments to give students some exposure. There are cricket tournaments and specialised coaching facilities available to students.
The VNIT infrastructure has all the necessary facilities to meet the needs of all students and provides a vibrant and pleasing environment in which students can learn while also having fun by participating in various extracurricular and sports activities and focusing on academics. There is also an entrepreneurship e-cell on the VNIT campus that is mentoring new startups. Since its inception, it has worked with over 5,000 startups, influencing over 10,000 students and aspiring entrepreneurs. It offers a variety of learning-oriented programmes that aid in developing entrepreneurial skills and provide opportunities to deserving candidates.
The VNIT Nagpur campus spans 215 acres and includes a variety of facilities for students. VNIT Nagpur facilities are well-designed to assist students with their academic and non-academic activities on campus. All students and faculty members have full access to VNIT Nagpur facilities such as hostels, auditoriums, gymnasiums, cafeterias, libraries, and laboratories. Health services are available to all university members 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be accessed during an emergency. There are indoor and outdoor sports facilities and a cardio fitness hall.
