Specialized Health Camp for Senior Citizens Conducted by Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre - Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Indore, recently organized a dedicated health camp for senior citizens, reaffirming its commitment to community healthcare. Conducted at Sanchaar Nagar under the auspices of the Department of Community Medicine, the initiative aimed to deliver accessible and preventive healthcare services to the elderly population. The camp was led by Dr. Aarti Sahastrabuddhe, Head of the Department, along with Dr. Rajendra Mahor, Dr. Lubna Shaikh, and a team of medical interns who provided comprehensive support throughout the event. The health camp focused on screening and early detection of common geriatric health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular issues, and respiratory ailments. A total of 35 senior citizens underwent clinical evaluation, with over 25 individuals identified as having underlying health concerns—primarily elevated blood pressure and age-related chronic illnesses. Dr. Sahastrabuddhe highlighted the importance of regular health check-ups, noting that many elderly individuals often delay seeking medical attention until symptoms become severe. In addition to diagnostic assessments, participants received personalized dietary guidance and detailed information regarding further investigations and specialist referrals. This initiative not only addressed immediate healthcare needs but also emphasized preventive care and lifestyle modifications for long-term well-being. Through such targeted outreach programs, Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre continues to demonstrate leadership in advancing community health and promoting dignified, quality care for senior citizens.
