What students says about IIIT Surat

  • JEE Mains is required to apply for admission. In General, the Category cutoff is approximately 20000 for the CSE branch and 35000 for the ECE branch.
  • Course Curriculum Overview: I wanted to do something related to Computer Science so I opted for the CSE branch. You will have approximately 8 faculties in each semester. Most of the facilities are Doctorates. Exams are not that difficult to pass.
  • For admission, participants had to attend JoSAA counselling, which was held a month after the JEE advanced results were revealed. The University was at a good location near my locality and half of my cousins have got there graduations and post graduation from this college which helped me to be more clear with my choice of picking this college for the admission.
  • Under the Act of Parliament, IIIT Surat is designated as an Institute of National Importance. The college is currently operating from the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology's temporary campus (SVNIT). I was assigned a seat in this college during my JOSAA counselling, and after entering the college, I discovered that the college only offers a B.Tech programme at the moment, and the crowd is also small, so there is a lot of teacher and faculty interaction. The college furthermore provides a conducive learning environment.
  • The college was well known for its most advanced labs and teaching skills. Also, the scale of the internship was high. IIIT Surat's main programme is the B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). JEE Main scores and counselling by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority determine admission to the programme (JoSAA).
  • Admission is based on the jee rank, So I don't think that any improvement can be done.
  • Faculty are ok. not too good because they are mostly on contract and there are very few permanent faculty. There are almost only 50-60 students in one branch so student-faculty interaction is good.
  • Permanent faculty are all Ph.D. degree holders compulsorily and their teaching methods are nothing new. They just come in lectures, teach little and leave. They don't care much if the student is studying or not.
  • There will mid sem exams of 30 marks and end sem exams of 50 marks plus 2 Internal quizzes, which will make the total 100 marks accordingly you will get your semester CGPA.
  • Practicals are of 50 marks, 25 Internal and 25 external (exam ).

Overall: Experience of mine in this college was good.I've got some good friends some well.Qualified teachers who motivated us and helped us in each and every step

Placement: If I talk about placement facility given by this institute.I can say that it is very average. Not all the student got placed , only thirty to forty percent of the student got placed every year , which is very bad

Infrastructure: If I talk about infrastruc7ture of our institute I can say that buildings were creatively made.It was restricted for outsiders to enter into the institute and yes playing area and libraries and cultural activities area over there

Faculty: Best part of this institute is that faculties who are working here are really well qualified.Well knowledgeable and headstudents and motivate students eating each and every step of their college life

Hostel: Best part of hostel is that Clealiness This is maintained by staff.Staff is really good food.Served here was of nice quality. It was restricted to outsiders to enter into the hostel area

Hello Janvi, the IIIT Surat admission for B.Tech courses has ended. You can either apply for admission to other engineering colleges that are still accepting applications, take a gap year and prepare for the JEE Main exam again, pursue a diploma in engineering and then apply for admission to a B.Tech course or look for other alternative courses that are related to engineering.
