Imperial College of Engineering Placement Cell has a structured mechanism for career guidance and campus placements. ICOER collaborates with the ‘Industry Institute Interaction Cell’ (III-Cell) and the ‘Entrepreneurship Development Cell’ (EDC), which consist of faculty and student members from each department.

To help students improve their communication skills, the ICOER placement and training cell, in collaboration with GTT has organised a free training programme for BE and ME students through the NASSCOM - Barclay's foundation. This programme was designed to help students improve their employability skills. TheImperial College of Engineering’s goal in organising this event was to encourage students to improve their communication skills and increase their employability. 

Many qualified and deserving students lack knowledge of how to pass an aptitude test during the ICOER campus placement process. The ICOER Placement Cell regularly arranges aptitude training for BE and ME students in order to improve students' awareness of aptitude. The JSPM ICOER Pune training programme aims to broaden students' knowledge and increase their employability.

JSPM's Imperial College of Engineering and Research Placement Cell facilities:

• A dedicated training and placement office, complete with interview and discussion rooms.
• Auditorium with all necessary amenities (Projectors, PA System etc).
• Full-service seminar hall for holding seminars and campus drives.
• Rooms for GD and personal interviews.
• Conference halls
• Library service.
• Motivational videos of well-known people.

The internship programme is mandatory for third-year students. Imperial College of Engineering BE final year students are encouraged to enrol for industry-based projects. Approximately 60 to 70% of students from ICOER Pune undergo the mandatory internship programme every year.
