The unique feature of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology is the scholarships awarded to students. Jeppiaar Institute of Technology offers attractive scholarships to encourage merit and to make education accessible to students of all economic class.

Scholarships worth Rs 60 Lakhs were recently distributed to 100 students of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, based on the academic performance, sports achievement and economic needs.

The scholarship scheme was instituted in 2011. Since its inception around Rs.2.0 Crore worth of scholarships have been disbursed to around 250 deserving students, many from extremely challenged backgrounds.

Jeppiaar Institute of Technology aims at in inducting and transforming meritorious rural students from economically weak backgrounds, providing them world class education, and allowing them to overcome the disadvantages they face and compete with their urban counterparts.

i ) Merit Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to meritorious students, based on their academic performance at the qualifying examinations for fresher´s, and in the case of senior students, their performance during the previous academic year.

ii ) Waiver of Tuition Fee
First year students of Jeppiaar Institute who secure the highest marks in the Plus Two examinations have their entire tuition fee waived for the first academic year. Similarly, senior students are offered scholarships on the basis of their previous year's performance.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship
Every academic year, several scholarships are awarded on the criteria of merit-cum-means. Academic performance and demonstrated economic need are the key criteria for this scholarship (Cash Awards , Gold Coins, LAPTOPS, Sponsorships for the Latest Software and Hardware Courses of the meritorious students interest).

Sports scholarships are awarded to students with an outstanding record in sports. Typically, students who have participated in National and International level competitions conducted by accredited Sports Boards are eligible for these scholarships.

This scholarship include a waiver of tuition fees, free hostel stay and boarding/ grant towards living expenses and an allowance for books based on their Participation and Performance in sports in their period of Study.
