Kasturba Medical College was established in 1955 and is a constituent part of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education. KMC Mangalore was the first self-financing college and is a prominent research centre in India. The institution is recognised by the Medical Council of India, the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian Medical Council. KMC is known globally for its quality education.
