In tune with modern trends in office practices, the college has introduced Automation to facilitate speedy handling of students and staff data. Seven bore wells in the campus supply adequate water to the three overhead tanks with a capacity of 12,000 liters each. In addition to that there are four underground sumps with a capacity of 16,000 liters each to augment the ground water level. Sufficient provisions are made for rainwater harvesting at each block. Reverse Osmosis units are installed in block I to provide safe and pure drinking water to the students and the staff members. The campus provides good facilities for both indoor and outdoor games. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The college provides Transport facilities for all the Students and Staff. A 24 hours Emergency Van is available for the staff & students in case of emergency. State Transport buses also ply up to via the college. An inhouse dispensory facility is available for students and staff.
Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme
Entrepreneurship Development Cell of our Institution has conducted “Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme” for EDC Student Members (Final year students of Engineering and Pre-final year students of MCA) in the EDC Seminar Hall on 25.03.2014 at 10.15 am. Mr.KR.Gnanasambandan, Vice President, TANSTIA delivered the Inaugural address and the Technical session.
I-Cube Contest
Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of our Institution has conducted I-Cube Contest for the academic year 2013-2014 on 25.03.14. Many students from CSE/IT/ECE/EEE/Civil/MCA submitted their papers. The papers were selected by the all the HODs and senior faculties to present for “I-Cube contest”. Selected students presented their papers before the HODs/Senior faculties from various departments. First prize Rs.1,000/- and Second Prize Rs.500/- was given to each department. Cash prize and Certificates were distributed to the students by our Principal, Dr.J.S.Gnanasekaran.
Activities like Road Safety, Yoga and Meditation classes, Planting of the saplings, Conducting eye camps, Yoga & Meditation camp, Career Guidance programme, Campus Cleaning programme, Traffic Awareness programme, Blood donation camp and Polio & AIDS Awareness programme are undertaken. Ten days camp in rural village is a Major NSS activity.
The Anna University is emphasizing the need for starting Personality Development Programmes for students and the University has formulated regulations for the same. Accordingly an RRC unit was started in our colege in the academic year 2006-2007. During this year about 70 students have enrolled in RRC,and the details of membership and registration have been submitted to the TANSAC, Tamilnadu.
Under the auspices of this RRC, Group Discussions were conducted to chart out the activities like, Blood Donation camps, free medical camps in the rural areas and to create awareness among the people about the dangerous evil diseases like AIDS, HIV and STI and also about public health by keeping the surroundings clean so as to eradicate the mosquitoes. As directed by Anna University of Technology Tiruchirappalli, AIDS Awareness film 'Uyirin Uirea' was screened to all the students. Thirty students from our college voluntarily donated blood in Government Rajaji Hospital, Appollo Hospital, Madurai Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Christian Mission Hospital, etc. They received certificate from the respective hospitals.
