Information has assumed greater significance than ever as a vital resource in teaching- learning process. The complementary role of the library as an inevitable partner in an educational institute needs no new mention. Many new dimensions have been added to the library. Electronic information resource as an important component of the library in growing year after year. The computer has swept the library in all it is operations-storage and dissemination of information.
The college library started nine years ago in a humble way has grown in many directions fulfilling the ever increasing information needs of the departments on one hand and keeping abreast of the emerging technologies relating to library.
The management of the college has granted special attention on development of the library as a hub on the campus. The library has determined program to create best services possible. This can be very well assessed through the large budgetary allocations made for the materials and services. Ambitious programs are afoot for further improvement of the service.
The red ribbon, as an awareness ribbon coloured red, is used as the symbol for the prevention of illegal drug use and drunk driving and also solidarity of people living with HIV/AIDS.
The red ribbon is a symbol for drunk driving prevention, drug prevention, Blood disorders such as HELLP Syndrome and for the fight against AIDS.
The Red Ribbon Foundation and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) are examples of organizations that utilize the red ribbon symbol. MADD is an organization founded in 1980 whose mission is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking. Red Ribbon International is an organization founded in 1993 whose main purpose is the education about prevention of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome Related Complex, ARC and AIDS
National Service Scheme (NSS)
The National Service Scheme (NSS), sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India, formally launched in Mahatma Gandhiji's Centenary year, 1969 to develop the student's personality through community oriented services. As a part of the academic programme National Service Scheme (NSS) has been functioning as a regular feature in our college campus, organizing blood donation camps, free eye camps and other social awareness programmes . First Aid awareness programmes and AIDS awareness programmes are also organized. Engaging in social activity to bridge the gap between the fortunate and the less fortunate through empowerment is the main focus of NSS activity.

Since 2008 National Service Scheme has been functioning very effectively in our college. The Programme Officer Mr. G. Shyamsundar is leading the unit very successively. Many community oriented services and student Centered services were successfully carried out.
Introduction
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) was started with the object of promoting specialized knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship development. In view of the worldwide shortage of jobs (both government and private sectors) leading to unemployment problems and lack of proper utilization of human resources; the cell strives to identify talented youth to entrepreneurial works. The cell plans to organize various programmes regarding entrepreneurship development.
Objectives of the cell
To create awareness among the students of the Institution regarding entrepreneurship as a career option.
To conduct training programmes in the field of entrepreneurial skill development
To develop entrepreneurship related course curriculum to incorporate in engineering programmes
To provide guidance and facilities to first time entrepreneurs during gestation.

The music club audition was conducted by the Department of Civil Engineering on 20.06.2015 at B.ed College. In that audition 45 students and 5 judges (Mrs.S. Vasanthi HoD/civil, Miss.S.Thejeshwi AP/CSE, Miss.A.Niranjana AP/IT, Mr.B.Dinesh AP/civil, Miss.S.Kouslaya AP/civil) were participated.

It includes a combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video, or interactive content forms. It can be recorded and played, displayed, dynamic, interacted with or accessed by information content processing devices, such as computerized. In addition, multimedia is heavily used in the entertainment industry, especially to develop special effects in movies and animations (VFX, 3D animation, etc.). This applications that allow users to actively participate instead of just sitting by as passive recipients of information are called Interactive Multimedia. In the Arts there are multimedia artists, whose minds are able to blend techniques using different media that in some way incorporates interaction with the viewer.

RETC Club
RURAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY CLUB (RETC)
About RETC
RETC is the one of the organization where laid by the IIT people. The main function of the RETC is to carry a village and to develop it, according to the agriculture or technical wise. The RETC were initially laid in four states such as Tamilnadu, Maharastra, Karnataka and Delhi. Our College has been selected among the other six colleges from Tamilnadu to undertake the RETC project.

RETC INAUGURATION
The RETC was established in the year 2014 for the betterment of rural area and its people.
The first inauguration program was conducted on 9th March 2014 in our college premises. The resource person was Ms. Shruthi and Ms. Divya from IIT, Trichy. They motivated the students to apply the technical application in the rural area. Our Principal Dr. R. Asokan presided the function.
The second meeting was held on 28th June 2014 with all the student members and coordinator to begin our project.

PROJECT
Student members of RETC Club visited poorly technological background village to create awareness to the people about the technology, for which IITMs RTBI has sanctioned the fund of Rs 15,000 to the RETC club and also Certificate of Appreciation was given to the Faculty Coordinator Mr.S.Gobinath, AP/Mech & Mr,P.Elayaraja, AP/ECE of KNCET and all the Student Members of RETC Club for carrying out awareness activities.
The Ministry of Non conventional Energy Sources (MNES), Government of India is promoting Energy Clubs in all Engineering Colleges, with a view to create awareness among the students and general public in villages around the college about Environment friendly renewable energy technologies.
It is the need for a common platform for students to come together and turn their concern into action, which brought the Energy Club into existence. A group of energy conscious students with the backing of the faculty decided to start a formal Club that would make energy awareness and action it’s priority and combine the ideas and concern of students across campus into tangible steps towards energy and sustainability.
