About KUK
Kurukshetra University (KUK) is a public state autonomous university established in 1956. The university's foundation stone was laid by the late Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. It is accredited by the NAAC with an “A++” grade. Furthermore, the university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). Located on the western bank of Brahma Sarover, its campus spans an area of 473 acres. Starting with only the Department of Sanskrit, KUK has expanded into a multi-faculty University and is considered one of the premier centres for advanced study and research in the region.
According to the NIRF Ranking 2023, KUK was placed in the 150-200 rank band (overall), 100-150 rank band (university), and 100-125 rank band (pharmacy). Currently, there are over 284 colleges affiliated with KUK. The university offers a total of 13 courses at certificate, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in regular, distance learning, and online modes. Some of the popular courses include MBA, B.Tech, M.Tech, BA LLB, LLM, MSc, MA, B.Ed, M.Ed, and B.Pharma. For admission to MBA, B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD courses, the University accepts CAT, JEE Main, GATE, and UGC NET scores, respectively. For other courses, admission is granted based on the KUK entrance exam or the merit of candidates.

KUK courses list includes a total of 13 courses offered at the certificate, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Some of the popular courses offered are BTech, BSc, BA, MTech, MCA etc. KUK admission criteria for undergraduate courses is that students must have completed their 12th grade with at least 50% marks (5% relaxation for reserved categories). On the other hand, for KUK courses at PG level it is a 3 or 4-year bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD categories). KUK Admission Process 2024
To apply for KUK admission, candidates need to go through certain steps that are mentioned below.
- Step 1: Visit the admission portal of the Kurukshetra University.
- Step 2: Click on the “Apply Now” tab. A new window will open, and you will need to sign up and create an ID.
- Step 3: Once the ID is created, log in, select the course you want to apply for and complete the application form.
- Step 4: After filling out the application form, pay KUK application fees.
- Step 5: The last step after paying the application fee is to submit the application form and take a printout of it for future reference.

KUK Placements
Kurukshetra University has a dedicated placement cell to handle and organise the placement drive on campus. It ensures that students are well-prepared for final placements and are offered maximum job opportunities. According to the KUK placement report 2023, the highest package offered to University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) students was Rs 20 LPA. Kurukshetra University fees for B.Sc is Rs 40,600 annually. The course duration is of 3 years and students who have completed their class 12 with PCM/PCB can apply for the courses.
