Why NBE did not announce NEET PG Exam Date 2025?

NEET PG 2025 Exam Date Announcement: National Board of Examinations released the schedule for various examinations conducted by it few days ago but what surpised the NEET PG 2025 aspirants is that the authority did not confirm the exam date. The PG medical entrance exam date has been put on hold, and there is no clarity from NBE on why there is a delay in annoucing the exam date. One reason could be that NEET PG exam date has been running into controversies over the years, and there were instances that a case was filed in Supreme Court on the same. Therefore, NBE might be figuring out the best possibile ways to fix the NEET PG exam date 2025 in such a way that it would not lead to further controversies.

Here's why NEET PG Exam Date 2025 Announcement is being Delayed

Here are some tentative reasons on why NEET PG exam date 2025 announcement is being delayed -
  • Every year, NEET PG exam date gets postponed multiple times (happened in the past years). Therefore, NBE will come up with a schedule that will not lead to further changes/ postponements
  • Every year, as and when the NEET PG exam date was announced, a case gets filed in Supreme Court seeking postponement and extension of internship deadline. Therefore, NBE might prepare the schedule that will not invite any court cases
  • NBE might fix a proper date for the completion of internship deadline as well
  • As the 2024 NEET counselling was delayed by almost one month, a decision was not taken on the NEET PG exam date 2025

Dear Aditya Manthalkar,

It is difficult to say for sure whether you will get admission to Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS) through the state quota with a score of 580 in NEET UG 2023 as an EWS general category student from Maharashtra. In 2022, the cut-off marks for admission to MGIMS through the state quota for EWS general category students was 559. This means that you would have needed to score at least 559 marks in NEET UG 2022 to get admission to MGIMS through the state quota. However, the cut-off marks for 2023 are not yet released. It is possible that the cut-off marks for 2023 will be higher than 559, due to the increasing number of students applying for medical college admissions.

Dear Divya, no, you will not be able to get admission in MGIMS Wardha with a NEET score of 339 marks and OBC category. The minimum NEET cutoff for OBC category students for admission to MGIMS Wardha is 500. The NEET cutoff for MGIMS Wardha varies every year depending on the number of seats available and the number of students who appear for the exam. However, the cutoff has been consistently above 500 for the last few years.

Dear Amar, the cut-off for admission to MBBS at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS) is highly competitive. In 2022, the cut-off for general category students was 71,404. You have scored 267 marks, which is much lower than the cut-off. Therefore, it is unlikely that you will get a government seat at MGIMS.
