National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur Placements Statistics

National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, was established in 1946 as a Government Ayurvedic College by the Government of Rajasthan. It later became the National Institute of Ayurveda in 1976 by the Government of India. NIA, Jaipur is one of the few Ayurvedic colleges in India that introduced post-graduate education in Ayurveda as early as 1970. The Institute is affiliated with Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurveda University (DSRRAU) for academic and examination purposes and is accredited to NAAC, NABH, and NIRF. NIA, Jaipur is now deemed to be a university that offers programs specialised in Ayurveda. NIA, Jaipur, is approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicines and follows its syllabi and curriculum. The Institute is one of the nine national institutes to have been recognised by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and have received many awards such as the Mahatma Gandhi Shanti Award, Ayurveda Parangat Award, and Purushottam Shashtri National-Charak Award by the government for their excellent work in the field of Ayurveda research. It also offers Nasya Panchakarma therapy to almost 800 people.

The Institute offers Bachelors in Ayurvedic Medicines (BAMS) undergraduate courses with specialisations in Medicine and Ayurveda. It also includes 1 year of the internship program. Eligible candidates need to score good marks in NEET, followed by counseling. It is for 5 and a half years, including 1 year of internship. Under postgraduate courses, NIA, Jaipur offers MD/MS programs for 3 years in various specialisations like Toxicology, Pharmacology, Paediatrics, Internal Medicine, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Anatomy, Physiology Surgery, ENT, Eye, to name a few, and Ph.D. for 2 years, Diploma courses in AYUSH nursing and Pharmacy for two and a half years including 6 months of internship and Certificate courses for 4 months including 1 month of internship. NIA, Jaipur also offers some e-certificate courses on “Dietetics, Nutrition, and Immunity in Ayurveda” that are given to candidates on a first-come, first-serve basis and last for 15 hours (2.5 hrs per day). For entrance to MD courses, one needs to have a valid NIA-JPGET score, and for doctoral degrees, a screening test and interview are conducted by the Institute.

NIA, Jaipur, collaborates with national and international companies and has an excellent placement record. Almost 80 % of the students get jobs in good companies every year, mostly getting engaged as research officers. Students are highly satisfied with the courses offered by the Institute and the placements based on their specialisations. Companies like Dabur, Himalaya, and Jiva Ayurveda visit the campus as a part of their placement drives. The maximum salary packages to eligible students are 1 lakh per month for abroad-based jobs and Rs 40,000 for those in India. At the end of all the courses, the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, offers students internships to better understand the courses and their actual experiences. Many offers come from hospitals and pharmaceutical companies, and candidates are in high demand for fulfilling the jobs of lab technicians. 

The placements in the Institute are pretty good. Various companies visit the campus and select final-year candidates based on their academic performance and personal interviews. Primarily, they are selected by well-known companies.

The Institute does not offer any scholarships as of now, although the needy students can avail of some scholarships offered by the government of India. Some scholarships are reserved for categories. The Institute provides stipends to candidates enrolled in various courses. 

  • An amount of Rs 12,684 per month is given to BAMS students.
  • An amount of Rs 42,560 in the first year, Rs 45,600 in the second year, and Rs 48,640 in the third year to students of MD/MS. 
  • Doctoral fellowships of Rs 50,315 in the first year and 51,990 in the second year Ph.D. candidates
  • An amount of Rs 500 per month to Diploma candidates

National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur Placement Year Wise Trends

The placement cell at the National Institute of Ayurveda takes every measure that most students get placed successfully. Placements at NIA, Jaipur is pretty high, and students get placed in good companies and industries in India and abroad. Many International companies engage BAMS students from this Institute. Any undergraduate final year student is qualified for the entry-level positions after completing the course. They get a payment of around Rs 12,000 to Rs 13,000. After the BAMS course is over, a student is eligible to become a doctor or prepares for the PG entrance exams for specializations in medicine and Surgery.

The students who are pursuing research get good opportunities in clinical laboratories. Those who are pursuing MD get internship placements in various hospitals of repute. They can become doctors and get jobs in well-known places in the health sector. National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur Placement Process and Placement Cell

The National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, has 130 seats for the BAMS course, which is the most opted-for course in the Institute. All of them are booked by the AYUSH Ministry, Government of India, for counseling. The packages offered to depend on the skills and expertise of the student in the relevant specialization. 

The placement opportunities in this Institute are enormous. NIA, Jaipur, offers job opportunities in both government and private sectors. The college has a lot of research scope for its students. The Institute provides internship opportunities to MD students in the hospitals under renowned doctors to get hands-on experience managing patients and essential medicines knowledge. 

Mostly pharmaceutical companies and clinics recruit the students for various positions. Companies like Dabur, Himalaya, and Jiva Ayurveda come for the visits.

National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur Placement 2022

Bachelor's in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is the most sorted career option in NIA, Jaipur. The placement offered by the Institute is quite good. Students get opportunities in good companies and industries. BAMS students get excellent internship placements. In 2022, 110 students enrolled in the BAMS course, and they all got entry through the NEET exams. After the course, students need to go for a mandatory rotator internship where they get a stipend of Rs 23,500. They get good exposure to hospitals, and the high patient load, which allows them to deal with real situations. 

Admissions to BAMs course are made based on a valid DSRRAU entrance exam and NEET UGC scores after counseling. For postgraduate courses, the candidates are chosen based on merit and an entrance test conducted by the Institute. Admission to MD/MS is based on NIA JPGET entrance exam score, and PhDs are granted admission based on a screening test followed by a personal interview. Candidates applying for Diploma and certificate courses can get through a valid score in the last qualifying exam.
