About NIA Jaipur

National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur was established in 1976 to impart high-quality education standards in the Ayurvedic System of Healthcare under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, as an independent institution. National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur is a model institute to grow and promote Ayurveda due to its excellent standard of teaching, training, research works, and handling patients. 

The Government of Rajasthan introduced an independent Ayurvedic college in August 1946, which was later merged with the Ayurvedic institute at Jaipur on 7th February 1976 to form the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), which became the first Ayurvedic college to introduce the post-Graduation educational program in Ayurveda in the country. Later National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, introduced 14 specialist courses in a postgraduate program, undergraduate courses, regular fellowship program for Ph.D. with a diploma course in AYUSH Nursing & Pharmacy.

The examination fees for the entrance examination at the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur is a non-refundable amount of Rs. 3000/- which is discounted to Rs. 2500/- for SC/ST and disabled candidates. 

The mode of payment of examination fees can be either IMPS, NEFT, or RTGS to an institution bank account with an Account named National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur. No other payment mode is acceptable by the institution. 

Candidates willing to seek admission to various programs at the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, should apply with a prespecified application form available on the official website of the Institute. The filled-in application form, receipt of online payment, and other requisite documents should be forwarded to Registrar, National Institute of Ayurveda, Deemed to be University (De-Novo) through registered post or speed post or by the person before 5:00 PM of the last day of submission. The forms received after the stipulated time will not be entertained. 

 Candidates can also send the application form along with the required documents as a single pdf file to email id on or before the last day of admission. While sending documents through email, the candidates should remember to send the application form and enclosed documents as a single pdf file instead of multiple files. The candidate should carry out the original documents during the interview, including the application form. The admission to Ph.D. program comprises of entrance exam followed by an interview process. Based on merit in the entrance examination, the names of candidates are selected for the interview.

AYURVEDACHARYA – BAMS – UNDERGRADUATE COURSE

The duration of an undergraduate course in BAMS is for 5½ years. The total seat available in this program is 92, out of which 1 is reserved for Central Govt. nomination, 2 for foreign nationals, 10 for students from Southeast Asian countries, and 10 seats for girls and reservations for SC, ST, OBC, and PH as per the norms of the Government. 

Admission to the BAMS program is mainly based on the student's merit in the admission test conducted by the University. University uploads the notification of the entrance test to the BAMS program in the newspaper and website

The course fee for the BAMS program is Rs. 42,025/- during the first year and Rs. 1,36,285/-. The hostel fee for the students applying to the BAMS program will be charged extra, which is Rs. 7500/- for 3 years and Rs. 11250/- for the final year. BAMS students will get a stipend of Rs. 12684/- per month during their internship of one year. 

Ayurveda Vachaspati/Ayurveda Dhanwantary

The postgraduate program of Ayurveda Vachasapati is a program of 3 years duration. There are 14 subjects under this program, which include:

Admission to the postgraduate program is based on the candidate's merit in the objective type entrance examination conducted by the University. The notification for the entrance test is being published in the newspaper and in the official website of the University. 

3 seats are reserved in the postgraduate program for candidates from BIMSTEC countries who ICCR sponsors through the Ministry of Ayush. 3 seats are reserved for South-East Asian countries and candidates in-service or belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and PH. 

The admission fees for the postgraduation program are Rs. 81750/- during the first year, followed by Rs. 54500/- during the 2nd year, and Rs. 54,500/- during the third year. The hostel charge for a year is Rs. 22500/- subject to availability. The monthly stipend that MD/MS scholars earn in the first year is Rs. 42,560/- followed by Rs. 45,600/- and Rs. 48640/- in consecutive years. The stipend also includes DA as per Government norms. 

The commencement of the post-graduation course starts on 1st March 2023. The theoretical and practical examination of the part I exam MD(Ay)/MS(Ay) is scheduled for the 3rd and 4th week of February 2023. 

Fellowship Programme Ph.D. – Ayurved Vidhyavaridhi

The fellowship program is awarded for 2 years. There are 14 postgraduate specialties available for the fellowship program. The University makes admission to the fellowship program after conducting screening tests and interviews. 

The fees for the Fellowship are Rs. 54,150/- for the 1st year and Rs. 41,550/- for the 2nd year. Hostel fees of Rs. 18000/- is charged extra per year.

Diploma Course in Ayush Nursing & Pharmacy

The Diploma course in Nursing and Pharmacy course at the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, is 2½ years. Candidates are selected based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination of the 12th standard. The fee for the Diploma course is 21,400/- for the first year. 

Panchakarma Course 

The Panchakarma course is 45 days at the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur. The selection process is based on seat availability and a first-come, first-serve basis. Admission to the Panchakarma course is 10 students per batch. The total course fees for the Panchakarma course are Rs. 15000/- with any TA/DA/stipend provision.

The minimum eligibility to apply for BAMS at the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, is a 10+2 examination or equivalent with 50% marks. Admission to the BAMS program is made through the DSRRAU Entrance Test score. Candidates applying to MS & MD courses must hold a BAMS degree.
