A few research fellowships are available to full time research scholars who are not receiving any financial support/ scholarship from other Agencies or State or Central Governments. They are required to assist the Department in the academic work for at least 8 hours per week as per guidelines issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Govt. of India, in addition to satisfying other conditions for the award /renewal of the fellowship.
NIT Puducherry scholarship schemes support the meritorious and needy students of NITPY by offering financial support to them. NIT Puducherry scholarship scheme was boosted by the introduction of a new scholarship called “Central Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students”. The new scholarship was initiated by the Department of Higher Education and Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. All those students of NIT Puducherry with a score of 80% and above in the 10+2 qualifying examination from a recognised Board will be entitled to receive the new scholarship.
The scholarship which will be paid for 10 months in an academic year will carry different amount for students from graduation level, postgraduation level and professional courses.
