NIT Srinagar Admission: JEE Main 2024 session 2 result has been announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Qualified candidates need to register for JoSAA counselling for BTech admission at NIT Srinagar. JoSAA 2024 registration will begin in June.

Walk-in Inquiries

Candidates or students seeking admission at the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar, can walk into the campus and head to the admission cell to get the admission form. The candidate can also clear any doubts from the admission cell and then submit the form once they have filled in all the required data with relevant documents. While submitting the application form, a nominal fee of Rs 650 must be paid. This amount can be paid via credit/debit card, UPI, or cash.

Online Application

As the nation is going through a covid pandemic, most of the admission process is now through online mediums. Candidates or students can head to the institute's official website and fill in the admission form. They would also be required to attach the documents requested on the official site. Once the documents are attached candidate will have to pay a nominal fee of Rs 650. Upon completing the process, the candidate would receive an e-mail confirming the same.

NIT Srinagar Counselling Process 2024

The counselling process is carried out once the candidate has been shortlisted for a particular course at the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar. The counselling centre is mainly at the institute, making it easy for the candidate.

NIT Srinagar B.Tech Application Process 2024:

Applicants will have to visit the official website of JEE Main and then fill the application form. 

NIT Srinagar B.Tech Selection Process 2024:

Students will be selected after they have completed the selection process without any failure. Applicants who have cleared the JEE Main exam with the required percentage will be selected on the basis of JOSAA counselling. Final selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of 10th/ 12th percentage and performance in the interview session. Admission of the NRI applicants will be done on the basis of DASA.

Applicants must have scored a minimum of 75% aggregate or be in the top 20 percentile in 12th examination in order to be eligible for B.Tech and candidates belonging from SC/ST must have scored 65% aggregate to get eligible. A valid scorecard of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) will also be required.

NIT Srinagar M.Tech/ M.Sc Application Process 2024

Applicants can follow the steps mentioned here to fill the application form of NIT Srinagar. The application form of the program must be submitted before the last date or the applicants will have to submit a late fine along with the application fee. Applicants will have to visit the official website of JEE Main and then fill the application form. Applicants need to fill the mandatory fields of the application form. The application fee is Rs. 500 for general category and Rs. 1000 for SC/ST/OBC which should be paid online for both programs MTech & MSc while submitting the application form.

NIT Srinagar M.Tech Selection Process 2024

Students will be selected after they have completed the selection process successfully. Applicants who have cleared the GATE examination with the required percentage will be selected on the basis of CCMT counselling. Final selection for the programmes will be done on the basis of 10th/ 12th percentage and CCMT Counselling. Applicants will have to clear all the round to get selected for admission.

National Institute of Technology, Srinagar offer's 2 years full-time M.Phil (Master of Philosophy) programme. For taking admission in M.Phil programme candidate have to clear GATE/NET/JRF exams. The allotment of seats is prescribed by Rule of Government.

• Candidate Must clear Bachelor Degree.
• Masters Degree in the relevant field of Science with NET/GATE/ JRF Qualification and a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or not less than 60% marks for General Category and for SC/ST/OBC minimum CGPA of 6.0 Or not less than 55% marks at Master’s level or any other equivalent qualification recognized by the Institute.

The Office of International Admission is the nodal point of admission to the University for international students. After going through the eligibility criteria for the courses, the students must obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) through the official website.

The students are then advised to send the following documents to AIU to obtain an Equivalence Certificate-

• Degree/Certificate and the year-wise Academic Transcript duly authenticated by the Indian Embassy in the Country or its concerned Foreign Mission in India.
• Accreditation status of the University/Institute which the student has last attended.
• Copies of the academic Certificates from Higher Secondary onwards (where necessary)

All Foreign / NRI students must register with the concerned District Foreigners Registration Officer / Foreigners Regional Registration Officers within 14 days of their first arrival in India.

To complete the admission process, the student must report to the office of the International Admissions to complete admission/Foreigner's Regional Registration Office (FRRO) formalities.

Applicants must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in a B.Sc degree. Applicants must have cleared bachelor's degree in science or a Master's Degree in an appropriate discipline with a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale to get eligible. Applicants belonging to SC/ ST categories must have scored a minimum of 55% aggregate.

NIT Srinagar M.Sc Selection Process 2024

Students will be selected for any of the available M.Sc programs only if they have completed the selection press without failing any round. Applicants who have applied for the M.Sc program will be sorted on the basis of JAM( Joint Admission Test) Scores. Final admission will be based upon the scores in IIT-JAM score and CCMN counselling as per directions of MHRD. 

Note: If any candidate failed to clear any of the rounds, he/ she will not be considered for further rounds.

• Applicants who are looking for admission in M.Phil program must have cleared M.E/ M.Tech with a minimum 6.5 CGPA or at least 60% aggregate in relevant branch of engineering. Applicants who are belonging from SC/ ST or OBC categories must have scored a minimum of 55% aggregate or minimum CGPA of 6.0. OR
• Applicants must have cleared B.E/ B.Tech with a minimum of 75% aggregate or minimum CGPA of 8.0. Applicants belonging from SC/ ST or OBC categories must have scored a minimum aggregate of 75% or CGPA not less than 7.5. Applicants who are applying for admission on the basis of B.E/ B.Tech degree must hold a valid GATE Scorecard.

NIT Srinagar M.Phil Application Process 2024

Applicants can follow the steps mentioned here to fill the M.Phil application form of NIT Srinagar. 

• Applicants need to visit the official website of NIT Srinagar.
• After filling the application form, Applicants may fill all the required details in the application form.
• Applicants will have to submit the application fee while submitting the finally completed application form. The application fee is INR 400 for general candidates while INR 200 for SC/ ST or other reserved categories.
• The application fee of M.Phil can be paid through a demand draft sent in favour of Director, NIT Srinagar

NIT Srinagar M.Phil Selection Process 2024

Candidates who have applied for the M.Phil program before the deadline will be selected on the basis of the academic scores. Selected candidates will be called for the personal interview round. Candidates who are applying on the basis of B.E./ B.Tech scores, the percentage in the degree will be considered for selection. Final selection of the candidates will only be done if the candidates cleared all the rounds successfully.
