For admission to Undergraduate courses (UG) a candidate must have passed the higher secondary examination (10 +2) of TamilNadu or an examination (like passed the CBSE) recognized by the universities as equivalent thereto. The upper age limit for admission to UG courses will be 24 (Twenty Four) years as on 1st July of the year of admission. A relaxation of two years is permitted to Physically handicapped as per GO No.239 dated 03-09-1993. The supplementary candidates are Incorporate in the appropriate places in the rank list and they are eligible for admission if vacancies exist or arise.

For admission to Post graduate courses (PG), a candidate must have passed 3 years degree courses (under 10 + 2 + 3 pattern ) recognized by the university or any other examination as equivalent thereto. All graduates in any discipline are eligible for admission to Postgraduate courses in a language if they have studied the language either under part – I or part – II and if they have the required percentage of marks as per university norms.
