he basic target of any university is to impart higher education to its pupils that will enhance their skills to be able to participate in the market and emerge victoriously. On that note, the Panjab University Chandigarh never shies away from providing all sorts of financial assistance to its pupils. This assistantship can be in the form of scholarships, student loans, fellowships and waiver schemes if any. As far as scholarships are considered, the university has an array of scholarships. The students who are already a part of any financial assistance program other than that offered by the university are also eligible for getting admission to the university, all based on merit. The following is the list of scholarships that a pupil can avail of from the Panjab University, Chandigarh:

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India vide its letter D.O.No.18-7/2013-U1A dated 10th June 2016, has instructed the University Grants Commission that from the financial year 2016-2017 onwards the Aadhaar has been mandatory for disbursement of all Government subsidies/ Scholarships/ Fellowships which are to be disbursed directly into the beneficiaries' account. In case some of the beneficiaries do not have Aadhaar Cards they may be instructed to get themselves enrolled immediately in the Regional Offices of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Govt.of India for obtaining the same.
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the award of Ms. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship (only one fellowship) which the Government of the India Instituted at St. Antony's College, Oxford (U.K.). The Fellowship is tenable for one year in the first instance, which can be extended by one year more on the basis of performance of the candidate. The fellowship carries an amount of £ 29,944.85/- per annum,
(i) Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship for student belonging to Minority Communities for Studies in India. Schloarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade. In the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh.
(ii) Only Scheme of Merit Cum Means based Scholarship for students belonging to Minority Community i.e. www.momascholarship.gov.in.
(i) Post Matric Scholarship Scheme of the Govt. of Punjab Those students belonging to the Scheduled Castes whose parents/guardian are the permanent residents of Punjab State and are studying in any recognised college in any part of India are entitled for scholarship, provided that the yearly income of their parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000 &tution fee & other nonrefundable charges be not taken from the SC/ST students belonging to Punjab State at the time of admission for various courses other than selffinancing courses of the Panjab University and its Regional Centres from the Session 2009-2010. (ii) Post Matric Scholarship Scheme of the Govt. of India Only those candidates who belong to Schedules Castes so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which the applicant actually belongs i.e. permanently settled and who have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any examination of a recongnized University or Board of Secondary Education will be eligible provided that the yearly income of their parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000. & Guidelines for Post Matric Scholarship Scheme belonging to Schedules Castes for studies in India at www.socialjustice.nic.in/Postmatricscholarship
