Roorkee Institute of Technology popularly known as RIT Roorkee is a private institute affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical university. The institute is accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade. RIT Roorkee is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). During the 3rd Dehradun International Science and Technology Festival in 2022, the institute was awarded with ‘Best Engineering College of the Year’ award. The college has a faculty strength of 124.
RIT Roorkee has 12 departments such as Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Department of Medical Lab Technology, Department of Management Studies etc. The college offers diploma, UG and PG courses. A specific Training and Placement (T&P) cell exists within the institute. Students can be placed on campus, on a combined campus, or off-campus through the Roorkee Institute of Technology placement cell. Almost all students in technical courses are placed even one year before the end of the course. T&P officers, student coordinators, and RIT Roorkee faculty members make up the team, which interacts with the corporate world and prepares students for RIT Roorkee placements. For students, the institute hosts a variety of seminars, industrial tours, presentations, guest lectures, and personality development activities. Roorkee Institute of Technology or RIT Roorkee is one of the top private colleges in India, it offers a four-year-long full-time B.Tech programme and a three-year-long B.Tech Lateral Entry programme. For admission to the B.Tech courses, you must have passed class 10+2 with at least 60% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics, from a recognised board. Along with this, a JEE Main entrance exam score is also necessary for admission, followed by a personal interview session. Direct admission to the B.Tech course is only provided if you fulfil these criteria. Also, students must have physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects, with one subject out of chemistry/ technical vocational subject as the third subject at the 10+2 level.
For admission to the B.Tech Lateral Entry programme at Roorkee Institute of Technology, you must have passed with a Diploma in Engineering from any AICTE-approved institute/ recognised board/ Bachelor’s Degree/ B.Sc degree from a recognised university, with at least 45% marks. Direct admission is granted if you meet this provided criteria. Reserved category students will get a 5% relaxation in the eligibility requirement for both B.Tech and B.Tech Lateral Entry programmes. To apply for any of the courses, you can opt for an offline application or online application.
