About DIT University
DIT University or Dehradun Institute of Technology is a private university accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade. The university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the International Association of Universities (IAU). DIT University is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and Council of Architecture (COA). For its overall excellence, DIT University has been awarded the Diamond rating by QS IGAUGE. The university is approved by the government of Uttarakhand, UGC and the Nepal Engineering Council. DIT University also received a BSI ISO 21001: 2018 certification.
The university offers courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels including BTech, BSc, BArch, MPharm, MBA, MTech, PhD etc. Students can also opt for two job-ready courses at DIT University. The university offers BDes and MDes courses, which ensure that students learn the latest and relevant industry knowledge to prepare them for the job market. To increase the employability rate of the students, DIT University conducts 80 hours of Aptitude Training followed by Campus-to-Corporate Training. Also, 40 hours of Soft Skills and Value Added Training is provided to all students in each semester. Students interested in learning foreign languages can enrol in the certification programmes run by the university.
DIT University admissions are offered on a merit and entrance basis. As per the 2023 placement data, DIT University highest package is Rs 58,00,000 per annum. In order to be eligible for DIT University admission candidates must meet the eligibility criteria determined by the university. Applicants must know that eligibility criteria varies from course to course. DIT University courses admission are given on merit basis and entrance basis. For admission in BTech courses, JEE Main scores are taken into consideration. JEE Main Paper 2 scores are accepted for DIT University admission in BArch. At the postgraduate level, the university accepts GATE and CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/UKSEE for admission in MTech and MBA respectively. DIT University Campus Facilities and Infrastructure
The lush green campus of DIT University is built over an area of 23 acres. Right from academic facilities to playground for outdoor activities, DIT University campus has everything. The modern infrastructure provides utmost convenience to students and helps assist in holistic development of students. DIT University campus facilities list includes modern classrooms, boys and girls hostels, well equipped laboratories and a library, canteen, health centre etc. Detailed information of some of the DIT University campus facilities are mentioned below.
Café and Canteens: National and international cuisine is provided at DIT University Campus at affordable prices. Restaurant is also here for the students to enjoy good quality food and a variety of food.
Sports area: Apart from studies, other activities and sports are also necessary, it not only keeps the student fit but also enhances his mind and concentration power. Badminton, Basketball courts, Cricket nets, Indoor games hall, and other such spaces are allotted at DITU so that enthusiasts can play matches, enjoy their stay at DIT and participate in various inter-block, inter-college, and other competitions.
Medical Facilities: Qualified and experienced doctors from Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dehradun run and manage the infirmary set at the campus to provide quick and best medical assistance. A Lady medical officer and an ambulance is present on the Campus 24/7 for the well-being and emergency situations.
Amphitheater: Open-air Amphitheatre is present near the hostel, where more than 400 students can sit and enjoy the cultural activities and other performances.
Convenience Stores: Stores are present at the DIT University Dehradun campus that provide stationery items, Xerox facility, printing facility, etc. Barbers shop and necessary items shops are present near the hostels. There is no need for the students to go out and search or shop for essential things. Everything is available on the Campus itself at an ease.
Security: Security guards are present all the time in and around the campus. CCTV cameras are also installed for the security of the students.
Hostel: Sarabhai, Bhabha, Raman, and Bose are the names of boys’ hostels that provide single/double/triple occupancy rooms and all other mentioned facilities. Around 1200 boys can stay here comfortably. Separate chairs, beds, study tables, and adequate washroom and restroom facilities are provided for the hostel students and actually for every student. More than 1000 girls stay here at the DITU hostel every year. Sarojini and Kasturba are the names of the girls’ hostel buildings. Proper supervision and security are carried out and the water-electricity supply is well-maintained and regular.

DIT University Scholarships
In order to facilitate scholarship among students towards their academic excellence, following DIT University scholarships are awarded to meritorious students:
Merit Based Scholarship Applicable to UG Programmes
1. For First Year
Merit Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in identified subjects at the time of admission and is applicable on the Tuition fee of respective year of study.
2. For Subsequent/Continuing Years
Based on the CGPA obtained after each completed year of study, top 10% of the students in each UG programme shall be eligible for merit scholarship applicable on the Tuition fee of respective year of study as per the following details:
- The scholarship will be awarded to the top 10% of total students who appeared in final term examination.
- The scholarship will be awarded to the students’ subject to clearing all papers in single attempt without any back paper, UFM and Indiscipline case.

To secure admission in the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) programme at DIT University, you must have passed with at least 60% marks in class 10 and aggregate 60% marks in class 12 in four main subjects namely English, Physics, Math with one of the best remaining subjects. A JEE Main score is necessary for admission to the university. Direct admission is granted to students who secured top positions in the board exams or those who have qualified with more than 95% marks in the 10+2 level. DIT University promotes academic talent and quality in its students. It grants merit-based scholarships to deserving students in an effort to encourage students towards academic success. At the time of enrollment, merit scholarships can be applied towards programme tuition fees based on the 12 standard percentages. Other than this, JEE Rank is also considered for merit scholarships for B.Tech programmes at DIT University based on PME & Chem/ Bio/ Comp/ Informatic Prac/ Engg scores. More than 90% or 1st rank holders are granted a 50% scholarship. 75% to 90% are granted 40% scholarship.
