Roorkee Institute of Technology, established under the aegis of the Himalayan Charitable Trust, is affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Established in 2005, it is located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, and offers a variety of UG, PG and diploma courses. The campus is spread over 30 acres of land and has a serene atmosphere providing students with a proper environment to grow and nurture their skills and talents. RIT Roorkee, not only focuses on the student's proper academic development but also ensures that they get enough exposure to the professional world that they wish to take a step towards. The institute holds several seminars and workshops, to provide students with proper training and to make sure they get an idea about how the industry functions. On May 5, 2023, the Department of Electrical Engineering at RIT Roorkee hosted a workshop on "Solar PV Power Generation", covering topics such as common solar applications, fundamentals of electricity, testing circuits with multimeters, and wiring PV circuits, etc. The session also gave students the chance to investigate the electrical and physical properties of PV equipment and discover how to combine solar panels, charge controllers, and batteries. The workshop attracted a sizable audience and was open to all Electrical Engineering students. Every participant understood and successfully connected a modest solar system. Mr Ashok Kumar, Mrs Shikha Saini, and Dr Ajay Kumar Maurya (HOD EE) were present at the session.
