Vidyalankar Institute of Technology (abbreviated as VIT) was established in the year 1999 by the Vidyalankar Dhyanpeeth Trust. It is an Engineering and Management degree college, located in Mumbai (also known as Bombay), Maharashtra, India. The Institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). VIT is awarded “A Grade” by the Government of Maharashtra. All the faculty members of the Institute are well-qualified and well-experienced in both teaching and industrial area.

At present, the Institute provides both UG  and PG programs in the different area of Engineering and Technology. It also offers doctoral level (Ph.D.) program in Engineering field with the specialization of Computer Science and Engineering. 

Vidyalankar Institute of Technology has world-class infrastructure and spread over a sprawling area of 11 acres with all the modern facilities including a Library, Laboratory, Auditorium, Sports and Canteen. It also provides separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls.

VIT Mumbai provides an array of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research courses in a variety of disciplines. Seminar Rooms

Vidyalankar Institute of Technology (VIT) seminars are equipped with LCD projectors mounted on the ceiling, green boards, Wi-Fi, and podiums for teachers to create a true learning environment for the students. Hostel

The Vidyalankar Dyanapeeth Trust has been running the Vidyalankar Gurkul, a dormitory for boys and girls in Nerul, since June 1996. There are 131 pupils (boys and girls) that live here. Some of the pupils are from Mumbai's western suburbs, while others are from other Indian states. The hostel is in Sector 17, near the Nerul railway station.

Among the hostel's additional amenities are computers with internet access, a library with academic and popular books, and leisure areas with carrom and chess boards.

Library

The library has a diverse selection of literature, including university-required textbooks and reference materials. All-important international periodicals and publications are also available through the library. There are also several big non-technical periodicals that are subscribed. A reading hall is also available in the library, which is open six days a week and on Sundays when exams are scheduled.

In addition to books, the institution offers students access to the IEEE/IET electronic library (IEL), an online database with over 3,796,274 full-text materials.

Cafeteria and Common Area

Labs

The main building's laboratories take up a whole floor. They include labs maintained by the five departments, as well as labs maintained by additional key departments such as applied sciences and mechanics.

The institute has established a state-of-the-art 'Central Computing Centre' in addition to 12 computer laboratories. The Computer Centre is housed in a 300-square-meter space. The center also contains Apple Mac desktops and Sun Blade Workstations, in addition to IBM-compatible P4 desktops. All of these computers are connected and equipped with various legal operating systems, application software, and printing and scanning equipment.

Vidyalankar Institute of Technology accepts MHT CET for B.Tech admission. The exam began on May 2, 2024, and will conclude on May 17, 2024. The answer key is to be released in the last week of May 2024 (tentative), followed by the facility to raise objections against it. In the second week of June 2024, MHT CET 2024 result is to be published (tentative) for Vidyalankar Institute of Technology admission. The counselling process will be conducted in July-August 2024 (tentative). The provisional merit list will be released in the second week of July 2024 (tentative).

VIT is unique among Mumbai's educational institutions in that it was founded by the Vidyalankar Dyanapeeth Trust, an organisation with a long history in education. Prof. C.S. Deshpande established the trust. In 1960, he began tutoring kids in a small classroom in Dadar, Mumbai, where he still lives today. In 1974, Vidyalankar lessons were relocated to the 'Pearl Center' in Dadar, where they remain today. The trust chose to expand after 39 years of teaching students by opening the Vidyalankar Institute of Technology. Vidyalankar Classs is located in Pearl Center. The institute was founded in 1997 and transferred to its current location in 2001.

It has received an exceptional rating of A+ from the NAAC. Admission to all courses is solely based on academic achievement. For UG programmes, candidates are chosen based on their performance in the MHTCET test. Similarly, admission to PG-level programmes is based on the candidate's GATE score. The candidate's marks on their last qualifying test are taken into account for Ph.D. programs. There are 780 places available for undergraduate programs and 174 seats available for graduate programs.

Electronics and telecommunication engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering, information technology, and biomedical engineering are the major tracks available in the BE degree. The campus is in Wadala, which is centrally positioned and well-connected by all kinds of transportation. The institute also provides a number of amenities for its students' well-being.
