The Webel DQE Animation Academy is one of the renowned animation educational organisations in West Bengal. The academy was established in 2004 and is initiative of Information Technology and Electronics, the Government of West Bengal, with DQ Entertainment (International) Ltd as Knowledge Partner. The academy acts as a platform for talented creative individuals and helps them achieve their professional goals in this upbeat and evolving area of animation.

In order to build a solid, the courses offered by Webel DQE Animation Academy concentrate on the basic concepts of classical animation with all attributes such as sketching, anatomy study, acting etc. The college provides admission in Diploma and B.Sc animation courses, such as Diploma in 3D & VFX Film Making, Diploma in 3D Animation, B.Sc in 3D Animation Film Making etc. In addition to this, the college also offers several short term courses in animation.

The Webel DQE Academy Animation campus is spread over 10,000 sq. ft area with high-end systems and the new H/W and S/W technical infrastructure, beautifully decorated with world-class furnishings. In addition to this, the college has an auditorium at the Salt Lake Electronics Complex Academy, the IT hub of Kolkata.

The Webel DQE Animation Academy also has a full-fledged Placement Cell that offers placement assistance to its students. More than 1,300 students left the Webel Academy and worked in major studios around the country to produce a high-quality output for national and international clients. A recent batch of 23 students who have passed out from Webel academy have been hired immediately by DQ Entertainment (International) Ltd. and are now working on international projects in the Kolkata studio.

The College also welcomes industry experts to speak to students about the latest technologies and encourages them to work in production houses under the existing working conditions. In addition, the Academy helps the students with their Internship Program in which they can work on Live Foreign projects and get to know the production pipeline before the completion of the course.
