About the Samunnathi Scholarship

The Samunnathi Scholarship is an initiative by KSWCFC (Kerala State Welfare Corporation for Forward Communities) to give students from unreserved categories a chance to pursue post-matric education and improve their living conditions through government funds. The forward community students willing to enroll in courses at UG, PG level, or even technical courses can apply online by visiting the official website. Under this scheme, economically poor students can get educational loans at minimum interest rates, and the scholarship amount will be given based on the level of education of an applicant. In fact, the benefits covered by the program help beneficiaries bring significant changes to their health condition, employment status, and livelihood. Each year, around 840+ students receive Rs 10,000 to complete higher secondary education with the assistance of this scholarship program.

Naipunya Samantthi

Samunnathi scholarship program collaborated with the Kerala Academy of Skill Excellence to help unemployed individuals from forward communities enhance their chances of securing a job. This program enables youths to receive guidance on developing soft skills, learning the English language, and fostering other necessary career skills. The program is conducted for around 120 hours and guarantees the applicants 50% placement.

Samramba Samunnathi

In this scheme, Samunnathi collaborates with IDBI bank to offer loans at minimum interest rates. It is specially established for individuals willing to start agricultural businesses under micro or medium enterprises. The scheme provides a loan of up to Rs 1200 lakhs at a 5% interest rate. Its objective is to encourage joint liability and self-help groups to improve their living and employment conditions with financial help. The scheme is applicable to individuals coming from forward communities with a family annual income of not more than 2 lakhs per annum. Applicants must ensure that they haven’t applied for the same loans under any other government scholarship program.

Bhavana Samunnathi

This scheme was initiated to provide accommodation assistance to Tamil Brahmins settled in Kerala. Agraharams formed a crucial part of Kerala’s culture and history. According to the Bhavana Saminnathi scholarship program, renovation and development work for Around 200 dilapidated houses in these communities will be restored. The estimated cost according to the government data for conducting the project is around Rs 400 lakhs.
