Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship (PSMTS) has been introduced by the Government of Odisha to foster mathematical brilliance and nurturing academic excellence. This initiative invites online applications from General, ST, SC, OBC/SEBC, and EBC students currently enrolled in Classes 11 and 12 in Odia medium-recognized institutions (affiliated to CHSE) across the state.

Named after the illustrious mathematician and educationist, Pathani Samanta, the scholarship program reflects the commitment of the Government of Odisha to uplift and empower the youth through the realm of mathematics. Selected students will be awarded a monthly scholarship of INR 5000 up to 10 months to support their academic prowess. The scholarship amount will be disbursed through electronic transfer of funds using the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The Pathani Samanta Scholarship 2024-25 is inclusive of a scholarship amount of INR 5000 per annum for a duration of 10 months for each selected student.

• The scholarship is open to the top 1000 students from classes 11 and 12 who have passed the Board of Secondary Education.
• (BSE) in Odia medium recognized institutions affiliated with the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE). 
• There will be no income criteria for the award of this scholarship
• An eligible candidate can benefit from more than one scholarship including PSMTS.
• Students must be residents of Odisha to qualify for the scholarship.
• A minimum of 60% marks in the mathematics subject in the previous examination is required for eligibility.
• Candidates must come from a financially underprivileged background to be considered for the scholarship.

The selection criteria under the Pathani Samanta Scholarship 2024-25 are contingent upon the following conditions:
Online verification of the student record is mandatory by the principal/head of the concerned Higher Secondary school or institution.
Final merit selection will be drawn on the basis of aggregate marks in addition to marks drawn in the Mathematics HSC exam provided by BSE.

In case of a tie, candidates will be selected on the basis of marks secured in S.C.P

• Access the registration link on the portal, available only to eligible students (Top 2064 HSC pass-outs) applying for the scholarship.
• Enter your Aadhaar number and proceed to the next step.
• Check your registered mobile or email to obtain the user ID and password.
• Click on the portal's login link. Enter your user ID and password to access the scholarship application.
• Provide all necessary details, including personal, academic, eligibility, and bank information.
• Click on the "Save as draft" button to save the information as a draft or click "Next" to save and proceed with the scholarship form.
• Preview the completed form on the page. Download the forms and take a printout.
• The proof of possessing an Aadhaar or undergoing Aadhaar authentication is necessary for applying to the Scholarship Scheme.
• Students not yet enrolled for Aadhaar must apply for Aadhaar enrollment at any Aadhaar enrollment center (list available at www.uidai.gov.in).
• Students without an Aadhaar should produce alternative documents, such as an Aadhaar Enrollment ID slip, Voter Identity Card, Ration Card, Driving Licence, Certificate of Identity issued by a Gazetted Officer, Tehsildar, PAN Card, or any other document specified by the competent authority.
• If lacking an Aadhaar number, contact the principal within the given deadline for login details.
• Retain the applicant copy for future reference.
• Applications not validated/authenticated by the institute will be considered "Invalid."

Scholarship Disbursement and Allocation

• Scholarship sanction is contingent upon students meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria and validation/authentication by the principals of the respective Higher Secondary Schools/Institutions, conducted exclusively in online mode.
• The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education will disburse the scholarship to selected students solely through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) mode. The funds will be transferred directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts.
• Students are required to maintain an active and valid joint bank account in any nationalized bank with an Electronic Clearing System (ECS) or Core Banking facility. This facilitates the direct transfer of the scholarship amount to their accounts.
• The bank account must be under the name of the applicant and one of his/her parents. When providing bank details, students must input the Bank/Branch name, Savings Bank Account number, and IFSC code with utmost care to ensure a seamless transfer of the scholarship amount.

Candidates must ensure they have the following documents handy when applying for the PSMTS 2024-25:

• Student's Aadhaar card
• Student's bank details
• Passport-sized photograph of the student
• School ID card, Admission receipt, Library Card, or Letter of Undertaking
• Marksheets or certificates from the most recent exam

An eligible student for the Pathani Samanta Mathematics Talent Scholarship will receive payment for 10 months annually. The scholarship granted to a student is renewable if the awardee qualifies for promotion to a higher class (Class XII). This renewal process will be authenticated online by the respective Higher Secondary School/Institution.

• This scheme will be executed through the State Scholarship Portal Website at https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in.
• The list of Top-2072 HSC Examination 2024 passed-out students, as provided by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, will be published on the State Scholarship Portal (https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in). This is for the purpose of online application by students enrolled in Higher Secondary Schools affiliated with CHSE.
• Mandatory validation of online applications by the Principal/Head of the Institution.
  Upon receiving verified and validated applications, the Director of Higher Secondary Education will award the scholarship to the top 1000 students.
• The scholarship funds will be disbursed to the selected candidates' accounts through electronic fund transfer (DBT). Awardees are required to open a joint bank account in the name of the student and one of their parents.
• The scholarship will not be renewed if the student discontinues or fails to qualify for promotion to the next higher class (Class XII).

The INSPIRE scholarship selection process primarily involves the academic excellence of meritorious individuals. To be considered eligible for the INSPIRE SHE Scholarship, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements, which include:

• Applicants must have successfully completed their Class 12 education.
• They should have pursued courses in Natural Sciences at either the B.Sc. or Integrated M.Sc. level.
• Applicants should fall within the age bracket of 17 to 22 years.
• Candidates must rank in the top 1% of students based on their aggregate marks in the Class 12 board examination.
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in Natural and Basic Sciences courses at the BSc, BS, or Integrated MSc/MS level, with this enrollment occurring in the same year they completed their Class 12.
• Candidates who have achieved top rankings in competitive exams such as the Joint Entrance Examination of IIT, AIEEE (top 20,000 rankers), and have cleared CBSE-Medical (AIPTM), while also choosing to pursue Natural/Basic Sciences, are eligible.
• Those admitted to esteemed institutions like the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), and the Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences (DAE-CBS) at the University of Mumbai, for courses in Natural/Basic Sciences leading to B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees, are eligible.
• Applicants who have received scholarships like KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna), National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), Olympiad Medals, and Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), and are pursuing courses in Natural/Basic Sciences leading to B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees, are also eligible.

Students have the convenience of both applying for a new scholarship and renewing an existing one through a single online portal. To apply for the Inspire Scholarship 2024, follow these essential steps:

• If you are a new applicant, click on "New User" if not, proceed to step 4.
• Fill in all mandatory fields and then submit your application.
• After submission, log in using the generated credentials, which will grant you access to the candidate dashboard.
• Browse the scholarship application link and provide personal details, current educational information, and details related to your 12th-grade studies or national-level competitive exams, along with other pertinent information and your contact details.
• Review all the provided information (filled by you) for accuracy and then submit your application.
• To stay updated about the status of your Inspire scholarship application for 2024, make sure to write down your application reference number or IVR number provided.
• It is also advisable to print a copy of your application form for future reference.

The renewal of the Inspire Scholarship 2024 is primarily contingent on the candidate's academic performance. To qualify for renewal, students must

• Keep the performance report and result mark sheet within 12 months after the announcement of the results.
• Eligibility for the continuation of the DST Inspire Scholarship for 2024 is reserved for students who have secured 60% or higher marks (equivalent to a GPA of 7.0 or above) in their University/College examinations.
• Students who either did not participate in the examinations or did not attain the requisite marks will not meet the criteria for the scholarship renewal.

When submitting your application for the Inspire 2024 scholarship, please ensure that you include scanned copies of the following documents:

• Passport-sized photograph (Required for all applicants)
• 10th-grade mark sheet (Required for all applicants)
• 12th-grade mark sheet (Required for all applicants)
• Caste Certificate (Applicable for OBC/SC/ST applicants)
• Certificate indicating rank in a National-level competitive entrance exam (Applicable if applying under this category)
• Certificate demonstrating an award in JBNSTS/NTSE/International Olympic Medals (Applicable if applying under this category)

Candidates must log in to the official website to keep track of the deadline to apply for the INSPIRE scholarship Programme. The table below presents the key dates for the Inspire Scholarship Application Form in 2024 in a clear and organized manner.

The scholarship has an annual value of INR 80,000. Each recipient will receive a monthly scholarship of INR5,000, totalling INR60,000 annually. All SHE scholars must engage in summer research projects conducted under the guidance of established researchers at recognized research centers across India. 

They will also receive an annual summer mentorship grant of INR20,000. Upon completion of the project, scholars are required to submit a Project Report and a Certificate from their mentor within the specified timeframe.

To initiate the registration process for INSPIRE scholarships 2024, students should visit the portal at online-inspire.gov.in. Here, they should select their desired program components, for example, SHE, Fellowship, or Faculty Award, and provide the required information. After entering the details, the candidate has to click on the "verify" button. Once the verification process is complete, you will receive instructions to proceed with the registration. It is important for candidates to ensure that they keep their USER ID and Password secure, as you will need them to access the portal starting from January 1, 2015.

Due to the high volume of applications received by the Department, the selection process typically takes a minimum of four months from the application submission deadline. Once selected, all candidates will receive a Provisional Offer Letter through their web portal account, confirming their scholarship status. 

Provisionally selected students must log into the online portal to access and download their offer letter. The list of selected and rejected students will also be prominently displayed on the home page of the INSPIRE Web Portal. Selected candidates will be required to upload the necessary documents to their web portal within the specified timeframe, as indicated in the offer letter, to facilitate further processing by the Department.
