At the undergraduate level, the university offers BA, BSc, BVoc, BDS, MBBS courses in different streams. BA Chinese, BCom, MBBS, BBA etc. are some of the popular courses offered. AMU admission in UG courses are offered on an entrance basis. Candidates must have passed Class 12 or its equivalent from a recognised university for UG courses admission.

AMU Selection Criteria for UG Courses

• The Departmental Admission Test (conducted in Aligarh) and the Entrance Exam are the two methods used for admission to AMU (conducted at designated centers).
• Candidates' performance on the Admission Test (All India Level) administered by AMU determines their eligibility for admission to B.Sc. (H), BA (H), B.Com. (H), and BSW.
• Admissions to AMU Courses such as B.Sc. (H) in Agricultural Science, B.A. (H) in Shia, Sunni, or Foreign Languages, BRIT, B.P.Ed, and B.Li.Sc. are made through the admissions test that the relevant AMU department administers.
• The entrance exams for BA-LL.B. and B.Ed. are only held in Aligarh, Kozhikode, and Kolkata.
• While BE (Evening) admissions are made based on Written Tests, B.Tech./B.Arch. admissions are made based on the AMUEEE, which is held at various locations.
• To be admitted to MBBS, BDS, and BUMS, you must have a valid NEET score.

The university offers PG courses such as MBA International Business, MBA Banking and Finance, MSc Chemistry, MSc Physics, MCom, MSW etc. AMU PG admissions are done based on the entrance test conducted by the university. For MS admission, NEET PG scores are accepted. The eligibility criteria for AMU admission in PG courses is that candidates must have passed graduation from a recognised university.

Given below are important dates for PG admission at Aligarh Muslim University. 

AMU Selection Criteria for PG Courses

• The entrance exams for BA-LL.B. and B.Ed., and MBA are only held in Aligarh, Kozhikode, and Kolkata.
• Admission tests for MCA, M.Sc., MA, M.Ed., M.F.A., M.Li.Sc., M.P.Ed., MIRM, MFA, and MHRM are administered by the relevant AMU departments.
• Candidates who have completed GATE can apply for the M.Tech programme. AMU administers its own Departmental Admission Test for any open seats.
• A valid NEET PG or NEET MDS score is required for admission to the MD/MS or MDS programmes.
• To grant admission to the Ph.D. programme, AMU administers a Written Test and then conducts an Interview.
• Candidates can find the online application form for all the PG courses available on the official website of AMU, Controller Exam.

Candidates can apply for admission to Aligarh Muslim University in online mode only. The AMU Admission Form 2024 cannot be accepted in any other mode. A candidate must submit only one application for each course of study. To apply for admission in one of the popular AMU programmes, follow the steps outlined below:

• Visit the AMU Admission portal or the University's website at www.amucontrollerexams.com for more information.
• The candidate should then register online and provide a valid and functional email address, as the username and password, among other things, will be sent to this address.
• Candidates should only register once to apply to multiple courses.
• After registering, the candidate must log in with his or her username and password. The candidate's dashboard will be available for filling out the form.
• The candidate should carefully complete his or her Profile. After saving the Profile, the candidate will be asked to review and confirm the information entered.
• Candidate should provide information about his or her educational qualifications, including the names of all examinations passed, including qualifying examinations, year of passing, Examination Roll No., University/Board from which passed, and percentage/CGPA obtained.
• Upload the necessary documents for admission, as well as a thumb impression and coloured photographs.
• The application fee must be paid online only. The AMU Admission fee cannot be paid offline.
• When the candidate pays the processing fees and the payment is successful, the Application Form is submitted electronically.
• Candidates must print the Application form and save it for future reference. 

Note: After selecting confirmation, the candidate will not be able to edit or update his or her profile. If a candidate discovers an error in his or her Profile after confirmation, he or she needs to re-register with a new Username and Password to complete all entries from scratch.
