About AMU
Aligarh Muslim University, also known as AMU, is one of the largest public central universities in India, located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The AMU is accredited by the NAAC with a Grade “A+”, and is a member of the AIU (Association of Indian Universities). Therefore, all courses and degrees in AMU are University Grants Commission (UGC) approved. The university offers a total of 20 courses in both traditional and modern Education, across numerous disciplines, including UG, PG, Doctoral, Diploma and Certificate programmes. In 2023, the NIRF Ranked AMU at 19th position in the overall category, at 9th in the category of Architecture, at 32nd in the category of Engineering, at 14th in the category of Law, at 28th in the category of Medical, and at 31st in the category of Dental.
AMU admissions are conducted based on entrance exams such as NEET UG & PG, CUET, NATA, CAT, etc. Additionally, the Aligarh Muslim University also conducts its own Departmental Admission Test and AMU Entrance Tests for selective course programmes. Some of the popular AMU courses offered to students are B.Tech, B.A., B.Sc., B.Voc., B.Lib., M.B.B.S., B.D.S., M.B.A., and many others. AMU Application Process 2024
To apply for Aligarh Muslim University admissions, students must ensure that they register themselves on the official website of the university as well as for their respective entrance examinations depending upon their courses. The process to fill out the AMU application 2024 is mentioned below:
Step 1: Visit the official website of Aligarh Muslim University admissions which is amucontrollerexams.com.
Step 2: Register yourself using your email address and a password.
Step 3: Once you have registered yourself, login again using the same credentials.
Step 4: Fill out the AMU admission form 2023 with all the personal and academic details.
Step 5: Submit the form after uploading all scanned documents.
Step 6: Take a print out of the form for future reference.
Note: These steps are for registration on the official website of Aligarh Muslim University. Depending upon the course for which students are applying, they will also have to register themselves on the admission portals of their entrance examinations respectively. For instance, for the CUET exam, students will also have to register themselves on cuet.samarth.ac.in. For the NEET exam, they will have to register on neet.nta.nic.in, and so on.

AMU Placements
AMU placement report 2023 is released by the university. As per the placement report, the highest salary offered for MBA degree was recorded to be Rs 14 LPA. Around 70% students were placed in top companies such as Cognizant, KiwiTech, LTI Spark, and others, during the AMU Placement for 2023. The university has a separate training and placement cell for its students, which is in charge of providing job opportunities to its students and assisting them in getting placed in some of the top companies. AMU Campus Infrastructure and Facilities
The AMU campus area is spread over 467 hectares, with lush green sceneries surrounding the infrastructure. The campus has all the facilities that make the students comfortable at the university, including a common room with indoor game arrangements, a library, a reading room, sports clubs, and a Literary and cultural society. The majority of AMU's staff and students live on campus, where there are 19 student residence halls and 80 hostels. Off-campus locations for AMU include Murshidabad (West Bengal), Malappuram (Kerala), and Kishanganj (Bihar). In the management of the Hall of Residence and maintaining discipline, the Provost and Wardens seek the support and cooperation of student representatives.
AMU Infrastructure:
AMU's infrastructure consists of a Hall of Residence, which is a group of hostels supervised by a Provost, and a number of teacher wardens who are responsible for looking after various hostels. Unless the Provost grants an exemption, all inmates should dine in the common dining Hall. AMU facilities include a common room with indoor game arrangements, a library, a reading room, sports clubs, and a Literary and cultural society, all of which are available in each Hall. Students at Aligarh Muslim University are encouraged to be self-reliant. In the management of the Hall of Residence and maintaining discipline, the Provost and Wardens seek the support and cooperation of student representatives. - Hostel Facilities- The university has separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostel buildings are known as Girls' Halls and Boys' Halls. There are many halls for each section of students like the Abdullah Hall, Sarojini Naidu Hall for girls, the Aftab Hall, and the Dr BR Ambedkar Hall for boys.
- Central Library - The university also has a central library which is equipped with the latest books, magazines, journals, and digital resources for all subjects. Students can also access library resources digitally. It is also fully equipped with wi-fi.
- Medical Facilities -The university has 24/7 medical health facilities including a medical room, glucose drip, blood pressure machines, etc.
- Sports Facilities- Aligarh Muslim University has many sports grounds for basketball, volleyball, tennis, etc. It also participates in many sports competitions at the national level and state levels.

Yes, you can get admission to Aligarh Muslim University through any financial assistance method as the admission authorities have not mentioned any disqualification on the brochure. However, you have to ensure that you are eligible for the BA (Hons.) course by qualifying the eligibility criteria and having appeared for the counselling process. The registration for the counselling process for the 2023-24 session is currently ongoing.

For general category students, the predicted AMU cutoff 2023 for MBBS is 2000 to 475000th rank in the NEET entrance test. The DGHS of the Medical Counselling Committee releases the AMU NEET Cut off as the last rank and marks at which admissions are offered in a particular category. The final cut off is released once the counselling process is concluded. As per the previous year, the AMU NEET closing rank for the general category was 29877 and the minimum required score was 582 for admission at Aligarh Muslim University.
