MGKVP Scholarships 2025 - Details, Eligibility, Amount

MGKVP Varanasi scholarships are provided to the students on a need and merit basis. The scholarships are offered by the Uttar Pradesh Government, United States-India Educational Foundation and Public Financial Management Systems (PFMS). The Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith scholarships include social welfare, welfare for the underprivileged, tribal welfare, welfare for minorities, financial assistance for female students, backward class candidates, merit-cum-means scholarships and many more. Aside from this, Fullbright Fellowships are offered to Master's students as a part of the MGKVP scholarship scheme for students wanting to pursue higher studies at a US-based institution.

The scholarships and financial help provided by Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith Varanasi are the following:

National Means cum Merit Scholarship: This scholarshipis offered by the PFMS to MGKVP students, it provides a scholarship amount of Rs 6000 per year.

Scholarship to Universities and College Students: For the first three years of college and university courses, the rate of the scholarship is Rs 1000 at the graduation level, and Rs 2000 a month at the post-graduate level. In their fourth and fifth years of study for professional courses, students receive Rs 2000 per month. It can be availed by the students of MGKVP. 

National Scheme for Incentive for the Girl Child: A scholarship amount of Rs 3000 will be provided to the female students of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith Varanasi, once.

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Category Students: Offered to students with a family income of Rs 2.5 lakh. The scholarship will cover maintenance allowance, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees, study tour charges, thesis typing/printing charges, book allowance, book bank facility, and additional allowance for students with disabilities, for the complete course duration.

Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Category Students: Provided to MGKVP Varanasi students from the Other Backward Class (OBC) category with a family income of Rs 1.5 lakh per annum.

Upgradation of Merit of SC Category Students: This MGKVP Varanasi scholarship will cover a package of Rs 25,000 thousand per student per year. Rs 15,000 per student per year as under: Boarding & Lodging charges of Rs 900 pm for 10 months; Pocket Money of Rs 300 for 10 months; Books and Stationery of Rs 3,000, along with Rs 10,000 per year per student for honorarium to Principal, Experts and other incidental costs.

Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students: This MGKVP scholarship will cover the whole tuition fee and other non-refundable costs (the annual cap on fees for students in private universities is Rs 2.00 lakh). Living expenses of Rs 2220 per month per student, books and stationery of Rs 3000 per year per student, and a new computer with its attachments are available for a one-time donation of up to Rs 45,000 per student will be covered.

Fulbright Fellowship: This fellowship is awarded to students to pursue a master's degree or study abroad at a university in the United States. Grants are given to academics, professionals, and teachers of MGKVP who wish to teach or do research in the United States.
