VBSPU Scholarships 2025 - Details, Eligibility, Amount

The Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University Scholarships are awarded to students based on their academic standing and financial situation. Established on October 2, 1987, as an affiliating institution of higher learning according to the Uttar Pradesh State University Act 1973, The Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University (VBSPU) offers numerous courses at UG, PG and PhD levels. Located in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, it was formerly known as Purvanchal University. Its operations have expanded from its initial 68 affiliated colleges to now comprise 552 associated undergraduate and post-graduate institutions, as well as almost three million students enrolled in three districts in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

The programmes one could choose from include undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees in the fields of engineering and technology, science, humanities, commerce, law, pharmacy, management, agriculture and many more. The university is recognised by AICTE, PCI  and UGC. VBS Purvanchal University is accredited by NAAC. Admission to courses at Purvanchal University is determined by both prior academic achievement and results on entrance exams. JEE Main, CUET, PUCAT, GATE, and UPSEE are the entrance exams that are accepted for admission. The VBSPU course fees range from Rs 30,000 to Rs 3.04 lakh approximately. It also offers scholarships to meritorious students with outstanding academic grades and also to students in need of financial support. There are also special scholarships for students belonging to backward classes such as Scheduled Caste (ST) and Scheduled Tribe (ST).

Fee Waiver Scheme: The State Government has introduced a scheme to waive fees for eligible students from low socioeconomic households.

Post-Matric Scholarship: Applicants are eligible for the scholarship if their parents' or guardians' yearly income is less than Rs 2,50,000 for SC/ST candidates and Rs 2,00,000 for general, backward caste, and minority candidates.
