They must also pass the NEET-UG exam, be a resident of West Bengal, and have passed their Class 12 in the science stream from a recognised board or Council.
Additionally, they must have passed their class 12 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects, obtaining at least 50% marks in total for the general category and 47.5% for reserved category candidates. Open-schooling students are not eligible for this course.
WBUAFS B.V.Sc selection is made on the basis of students' merit. The admission cell at the university prepares a merit list for the B.V.Sc programme, and students are granted admission based on that.
In order to be considered for the WBUAFS B.F.Sc programme candidates must meet the following requirements: They must be at least 17 years old as of December 31st of the application year and a resident of West Bengal. Additionally, they must have completed their class 12 education from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent science stream from a recognised board/council and have passed their class 12 examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as mandatory subjects and a minimum of 50% marks (40% for SC, ST, OBCA, OBC-B, PwD) in these subjects.
Candidates who are currently enrolled in a Vocational stream or Open schooling program are not eligible to apply for the course. Furthermore, they must have passed all the above-mentioned subjects in regular class mode.
WBUAFS B.F.Sc programme selection is made on the basis of a merit list which is released online and offline. The merit list is prepared on the basis of student's performance in their previous qualifying examinations.
To be eligible for WBUAFS B.Tech, the candidate must be at least 17 years of age as of December 31st in the year of application, must be a resident of West Bengal, and must have passed their class 12 examination from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination in the science stream from a recognised Board/Council.
Additionally, they must have passed their class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects with individual passing marks in regular class mode. They must have obtained at least 50% marks (40% for SC, ST, OBCA, OBC-B, and PwD) in the above four subjects combined.
Furthermore, the candidate must qualify for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Engineering (WBJEE) conducted by WBJEEB.
The WBUAFS admission process for post-graduation courses is the same. Candidates who wish to get admission to WBUAFS M.V.Sc/M.F.Sc/M.Tech needs to have the following eligibility criteria.
Candidates must have passed B.V.Sc. & A.H/ B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ B.F.Sc. from a recognised university with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) in the traditional system or with a minimum 6.2 OGPA (6.0 for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) in 10 point system. Submission of PDC/Final Transcript is obligatory with the application form.
WBUAFS M.V.Sc/M.F.Sc/M.Tech candidates will be chosen based on how well they do in the tests and interviews. They will be selected based on their grades from their bachelor's degree and how well they did in the subject they want to study for their master's degree. The grades from their bachelor's degree and the subject they wish to study will be worth 40% and 20% of their total score.
They will also have to do well in a written test and an interview, each worth 40% of their total score. A candidate must get at least 50 out of 100 points from all tests and interviews combined with being chosen. Candidates chosen through a different test called the ICAR do not have to go through this process but still have to meet the same qualifications.
To be accepted onto a PhD course at the West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Science, a candidate must hold a Master's degree in Veterinary & Animal Sciences, M.Tech. (Dairy Technology/ Dairy Chemistry/ Dairy Microbiology) or M.F.Sc. They must also have obtained at least 55% marks overall in their Master's degree or 2.75 GPA on a 4.00-point scale or 6.75 on a 10-point scale. Furthermore, they must possess a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary and Animal Sciences (5 years), Dairy Technology (4 years) or Fishery Sciences (4 years) from a recognised university or national institute. The selection of candidates shall be strictly based on the academic scores in the master’s degree level and performance in the written test and personal interview. The academic score shall be decided based on the percentage of marks in aggregate or CGPA in the master’s degree examination. The total marks for preparation of the merit list shall be 100, out of which 40% on the academic score, 40% on the written test and 20% on the personal interview. Candidates selected through ICAR will be exempted from the mentioned selection process but must be eligible for PhD admission at WBUAFS Kolkata.
To be eligible to apply for the WBUAFS DVP course, candidates must meet the following criteria: they must be between 17 and 32 years of age as of December 31st of the application year, with a relaxation of the upper age limit by a maximum of 3 years for SC/ST/OBC-A & B candidates. Additionally, they must be a resident of West Bengal, have completed their class 12 education from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent science stream from a recognised board/council, and have passed their class 12 examinations with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics as mandatory subjects and a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC, ST, OBCA, OBC-B, PwD) in these subjects. Candidates currently enrolled in a Vocational stream or Open schooling program are not eligible to apply for the course.
WBUAFS DVP selection is made by preparing a merit list. The list is prepared according to the percentage of total marks obtained by the students in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics in the class 12 examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent.
To be considered for the WBUAFS A.H programme, applicants must meet certain qualifications. They must be within the age range of 17 to 25 years old as of December 31st of the application year, with a possible age extension of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC-A & B candidates. They must also have successfully passed the NEET-UG examination, possess West Bengal residency, and have finished their Class 12 education in the science stream from a recognised board or Council.
Furthermore, in their Class 12 or equivalent examination, they must have received passing grades in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English as required subjects, scoring at least 50% for the general category and 47.5% for reserved category applicants.
