• In 2014, AVIT established a renewable energy technology lab. It will be useful to do research in wind technology and solar. Students can also do research on them along with professors.
• A Pre-Placement training program is present for final year students. They  teach topics like logical reasoning, group discussion, analytical skills, interview techniques, language proficiency, etc.
• AVIT conducts both On-Campus and Off-Campus drives. 
• AVIT University Chennai has a hostel facility for both boys and girls. They build individual hostel blocks for boys and girls.
• Hostel canteen is also there in FAHS, AVIT University with menus containing various South Indian and North Indian dishes.

Students who are excellent in academic, co-circular, and extra-curricular activities will be awarded Annapoorani Gold Medal along with a cash prize.
