Bethune College Campus Facilities - Hostel Fees, Infrastructure, Address

The Library has developed together with the college as an indispensable part of the entire college. The location of the Library has been changed a number of times. Initially the college library was situated in the Bethune School Hall.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Mahatma Gandhi's Centenary year, i.e. 1969. Aimed at developing student's personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges and Universities. The NSS motto, very aptly is "NOT ME BUT YOU".

The NSS unit of Bethune College was formalized in 2006. Currently Dr. Hiroj Kumar Saha (Dept. of Zoology) is the teacher in charge of the unit and also the Programme Officer. The College maintains a very active NSS unit. The work done by the unit is divided into two subcategories -

• General Programmes - Those that are conducted throughout the year like various awareness programmes, blood donation camps, health camps, planting saplings, etc. These are mandatory activities that need to be performed by any NSS unit.
• Special Programmes - Special camps are organised generally on various developmental issues of national importance. They take up various programmes to promote the various national schemes currently prevalent. For e.g., one of the most important on-going scheme is "BetiBachao, BetiPadhao", to promote education among girls and stop female
