The BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus, is about 10 kms south of Vasco-da-Gama, 20 kms north of Margaon and 7 kms east of Goa Airport, along National Highway – 17B, Bypass road. In the midst of idyllic, sylvan beauty, the Campus houses the Main building, having academic and administrative offices, Guest House, Hostels for boys and girls, Student Activity Centre, faculty and staff quarters, Medical Centre, Playground and Shopping Complex. Around 4500 students live on campus along with 400 faculty members, their families and a vast pool of support sta. The campus also boasts of a magni?cent library complex with a oor area of 65,000 sq. ft and a rich collection of more than 2,30,000 volumes of books and manuscripts. An intellectual powerhouse, the campus has successfully attracted healthy amounts of research funding from government grants and private bodies. The institute is fully residential. There are separate hostels for boys and girls providing accommodation for each student on campus. Hostel common rooms are equipped with recreational facilities like Table Tennis, Carom along with LED TV with Dish connection, newspaper and telephones. Hostels are provided with Aqua guard purified drinking water facility with water coolers for supplying drinking water and geysers for bathing. The hostels also have a badminton court which is well illuminated with solar lights.
There are two large sized dining halls with a seating capacity of 1200 students at a time. Each dining hall is well equipped with modern equipment and furniture. Both messes are run by outsourced mess contractors.
The Institute has a National Service Scheme (NSS) chapter which enrolls about 200 students every year. NSS aims at developing amongst students a sense of participation in nation building through social work. In recent years the NSS volunteers of the Institute work in the surrounding villages and involve the villagers in activities like awareness camps, health camps, tree plantation drives etc.. Other activities like Blood Donation Camps and seminars on RTE are organized successfully. The Blood Donation Camp conducted in Jan, 2016 had collected a total 731 units of blood. NSS also has a small school in campus where tutorials and personality development classes are conducted for local students from schools in Pilani with great zeal and enthusiasm. Counselling sessions are also conducted at regular intervals. The students also work in the surrounding villages to impart computer literacy to children studying in government schools.
The Social and Environment club organizes events with the sole aim of sensitizing students about their responsibility towards environment and community. Some of the activities taken up by the club includes awareness programme, blood donation camp, clean up drive, English classes for the support staff, recycling of paper, cans and tetra packs, fund raising events for charity, program for special needs children etc. Students are involved in making paper bags to replace the plastic bags used in the campus.
Microsoft Tech Club is the tech club at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus, associated with Microsoft Gulf, DIC. Is run by Microsoft Student Partners, and students of the Microsoft Student Community. The Microsoft Student Partners Program is for students who realize the best tech careers come to those who chase their dreams. MSPS are involved in building apps, training others and social media. They are social, friendly students who enjoy creating global connections. Attend seminars, workshops and developer camps at the Microsoft Dubai office.
B-quizzed, conducted at the Campus is the largest quizzing competition held in UAE where many universities and schools take part every year
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at BITS goa is decent, new classrooms were built in the last 5 years ,also the library ,the auditorium all are renovated and developed pretty well.
Hostel: The hostels are fine too, just they need a bit of renovation as the cupboard being used is same since 15 years. Also the common room of hostel are one of the best things, you have a T.V. , and a table tennis table. Also recently the cost of hostel were changed thereby providing a relief for students. Overall the rooms and bathrooms in hostel are decent.
