Preparation for Job Roles or Advanced Learning Pursuits Real-World Ability: The curriculum ties basic concepts with real-world jobs, so students can adapt in the workplace. However, if more industry-specific certifications or industry-specific tools, such as ([specific tools/software]), have been added. Further Research: The course lays a solid foundation for further research or advanced degrees in [specific fields]. Suggestions for Improvement 1. Curriculum Upgrades: Some topics seem quite outdated and could include some recent developments in [specific areas, e.g., sustainability, advanced tech]. 2. Teaching Methodology: The use of interactive methods such as flipped classrooms, more live projects, and peer discussions may improve learning. 3. Faculty: The faculty at the college plays a significant role in determining the academic and overall student experience. Here is a breakdown of the faculty's approach to teaching, their expertise, and the overall student-faculty relationship: Faculty Expertise and Qualifications 1. Academic Background: The faculty members are highly qualified, with many holding Ph.D. degrees and extensive research experience in their respective fields. Professors often have a mix of academic credentials and industry experience that makes the teaching even richer and the lessons more related to real-world applications. 2. Diversity and Specialization: The department offers broad expertise in areas such as [software engineering, marketing, economics, etc.,] and there is always a faculty member for every specialized subject. Many members of the faculty have published research papers in the world's top journals and, therefore, contribute to the advancement of the field. Teaching Methods 1. Interactive Teaching: Most of the professors facilitate interactive learning, using multimedia tools, case studies, and group discussions to make the classes more engaging. For technical subjects, professors incorporate practical sessions and projects, helping students bridge the gap between theory and practice. 2. Innovative Methods: Flipped classrooms, guest lectures, and seminars are common, with professors often inviting industry experts to share insights. Some departments incorporate simulations, coding platforms, and group platforms (like GitHub) to encourage active learning. Faculty-Student Interactions 1. Openness: Faculty generally are accessible. They organize regular office hours for meetings with students regarding academic uncertainties or personal guidance. Many professors also keep online forums or WhatsApp groups open that makes it easier for access. 2. Counselling: Professors guide their students on career choices, research projects, and personal growth. Some even counsel academic matters to students seeking further study. The relationship is much more collaborative than hierarchical; hence, it gives space for the students to come out with their opinions freely. Favorite and Least Favorite Faculty 1. Best Faculty: Tanmay sir is greatly appreciated for their approach towards teaching, especially the style of teaching. They make complicated stuff seem easy to understand; in fact, they would use real-life examples where necessary to clarify abstract notions. Their mentorship was instrumental in helping many in setting their academic paths straight. 2. Least Favorite Faculty: While most faculty members are well respected, Suryendu sir was mixed. Some students reported that they were too abstract and rarely provided examples for practical implementation, which created a difficulty in learning. Faculty Experience The general faculty experience is excellent as there are a variety of teaching methods that accommodate individual learning preferences. The faculty is concerned with student success and has an excellent academic environment. This was a rigorous yet balanced academic environment that promoted critical thinking, collaboration, and self-learning. Improvement Scope More workshops and hands-on sessions on industry-related tools, such as AI or Data Science, would benefit the learning process. Some faculty members can be slightly inconsistent with grading timelines - assignments and projects, more so.
