The Film & Television Institute of India counseling process is not typical at the college. Students must go through the FTII-managed counseling process at regional centers located in several cities around the country.
After being shortlisted for a certain course, students are summoned to their respective regional centers to select the streams in which they wish to enroll. Then, based on the availability of seats and candidates' performance in the previous qualifying exam, the Film & Television Institute of India entrance exam, and a personal interview, FTII admission is confirmed.
