Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar (Deemed to be University) came into existence on March 4, 1902, by Swami Shraddhanandaji with a view to reviving the ancient Indian gurukul system of education. Over the years the university has perfectly blended traditional and modern systems of education to establish itself as a dynamic institution of higher learning. GKV Haridwar has been accredited with a B grade by NAAC. The university acquired a CGPA of 2.38 on a four-point scale. At present, GKV Haridwar consists of 30+ academic departments divided into 10 schools of study. The GKV Haridwar courses include B.Tech, MBA, M.Sc, MCA, MA, B.P.Ed, PhD, PG diploma and so on. The GKV Haridwar admission is based on entrance tests and course-wise eligibility criteria.

GKV Haridwar Scholarships
GKV Haridwar scholarships are offered to deserving students. Scholarships are given to deserving MA Philosophy and Sanskrit students. Following are the specifics of the scholarships available :
- Only those pursuing MA Vedic Literature, who completed their most recent Vedalankar, Vidyalankar, Shastri, Acharya, or BA with Sanskrit test are eligible for a scholarship.
- Poor and exceptional Vedalankar (BA Hons. Veda) I, II, and III students will each receive a Rai Bahadur Shiv Charan Das Sabarwal Scholarship of Rs. 5,000 a year (3 scholarships).
- Dr. Tulsiram Rambai Charitable Scholarships will be given to deserving and deserving Vedalankar (BA Hons. Veda) and MA (Vedic Literature) students each year in the following ways :
- Three GKV Haridwar students in the first year of Vedalankar's BA Hons. Veda programmes are charged Rs 600 per month for tuition and Rs 1,000 for books.
- Vedalankar (BA Hons. Veda) Second year, 3 students, Rs 700 per month, plus Rs 1,200 for books.
