The Library is one of the finest that any campus can hope to have. Housed in an imposing building, it caters to the needs of students and staff of GSS College. The large Reading Hall with a seating capacity of 200 has a high ceiling and large windows that allow natural illumination and ventilation. A separate Reading Room caters to the needs of the students interested in newspapers and periodical.he library has a large collection of more than 74,000 books in almost all major disciplines. Besides, the Library subscribes to about 80 periodicals and research journals, both Indian and Foreign. The Library remains open from 7.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on all working days except Saturdays, when it closes at 2.30 p.m. Night Library facility (from 5.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.) is made available from February onwards till examinations are over. Open access system is in place for the students to choose and pick the books of their interest.There is a Multi-speciality - Gym where many students can perform weight training at the same time. Other accessories required for weight training are also available. An instructor is present to help students in using the instruments. Students and staff are encouraged to use this facility. A nominal fee is charged for students.Separate Hostel facilities with clean lodging and sanitation are available for boys and girls who are not residents of Belgaum. Admission to the hostels is subject to availability of rooms. A Hostel Warden, who is normally resident in the campus, supervises the hostels. Enquiries about fees and availability of room are to be made with the warden or the college office. Hostel fees towards maintenance and sanitation have to be paid when admission to hostel is granted. Hostel fees are non refundable. Hostel rules have to be followed by all hostel residents. Breach of hostel rules can lead to penal action / expulsion from the hostel.
