IIT Kanpur admission process for the academic year 2024 has started. JEE Main 2024 session 2 will be conducted from April 4 to April 15, 2024. B.Tech candidates who have qualified JEE Main will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced for IIT Kanpur admissions 2024. The registration window for JEE Advanced 2024, will open on April 21, 2024, and close on April 30, 2024. The examination is scheduled for May 26, 2024. Candidates for the M-Tech and M.S by Research programs must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science or a Master's degree in science with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks/5.5 CPI GATE score. Candidates having a B-Tech/B.S (Four Year) degree from an IIT with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years of B-Tech/B.S are exempt from the GATE requirement (Four Year) Applicants with a B.Sc. (3-year) or equivalent with a minimum of 75 percent marks/7.5 CPI may be considered for admission to MS (Research) in CSE.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur offers 34 courses at the undergraduate level. IIT Kanpur admission to all undergraduate courses is made based on performance in the entrance examination. The entrance exam is different for each program.
IIT Kanpur provides four-year B-Tech and B.S. programs in science and technology. Students who achieve a high JEE Advanced score will be considered for B-Tech and B.S programs. Both the BTech and B.S. programs are only available in full-time regular format.

IIT Kanpur offers a full-time MBA program for two years in the Industrial & Management Engineering Department. The program is offered in areas like Manufacturing Management and Service Management and the functional areas of Operations, Systems, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resource Management. Admission is made based on the CAT score, followed by the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.

The aggregate score is used to make the MBA admission decision. The average score depends on many factors like academic profile, job profile, etc. As a result, the needed minimum CAT cutoff for admission for general category candidates is 93 percentile in aggregate and 50 percentile in each part.
Candidates can apply for the programs through online mode only. Candidate has to register online by providing their personal, academic details, submitting a photograph and signature along with all the required information. They need to pay an application fee of Rs 1600 (General and OBC applicants)/ Rs 800 (SC/ST and Physically Disabled) through a demand draft payable to 'Registrar IIT Kanpur' payable at Kanpur.
IIT Kanpur also offers Masters's program in Design (M.Des) in regular full-time mode. Admission to the program is made through CEED/ GATE score. Candidates must have completed their Bachelor's Degree in Design specialization. Final access to these programs is granted based on counselling and an interview.
The program does not accept candidates with fine art or interior design backgrounds. Final-year students can apply if they submit their original degree-related credentials before September. The institute will undertake a second round of screening based on the CEED results. If this is the case, it will be communicated to the shortlisted individuals. Selected candidates will get an acceptance letter based on their performance in the screening round, CEED scores, and previous academic performance.

The candidates will be required to fill in the application form and submit the application form as well. Once the application form has been submitted, the candidates will then be asked to pay the application form fee. After the payment of the application form fee, the application process for M.Sc and M.Sc + Ph.D. at IIT Kanpur will be completed.
The selection process for M.Sc and M.Sc + Ph.D. at IIT Kanpur is simple. The selection of candidates is solely based on a candidate's performance in the IIT JAM exam or Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.
Candidates must have passed B.Tech/B.Des from IIT with a minimum 7.0/10 CPI or 4-year B.Tech/ B.Des/ B.Arch/ Bachelors in Interior Design with a minimum 6.0/10 CPI or 55% marks or 4 years Professional Diploma in Design from NID with a minimum 6.0/10 CPI or 55% marks from a recognized university.
Eligibility for the program is a bachelor’ Degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 65% marks (55% marks for SC/ST/PD) from a recognized university. The candidate must also have a valid CAT score to be eligible and be shortlisted for the program. A score with 85+ percentile is preferred as the minimum score for shortlisting candidates. Final-year students who will graduate by 2021 or who are in the process of doing so can also apply.
Candidates applying for the B-Tech/B.S. program must have finished 10+2 education from a recognized board and be in the top 20% of their class. They must also have a JEE Advanced score that is genuine.
Master's degree in engineering with a minimum of 75 percent marks/7.5 CPI and a valid GATE score OR Bachelor's degree in engineering or science (4-year program) with a minimum of 75 percent marks/7.5 CPI and a valid GATE score OR Master's degree in science or an allied area while meeting each of the three criteria:
(a) a master's degree with a minimum of 65 percent marks/6.5 CPI,
(b) a bachelor's degree with a first division, and
