IIT Kanpur Admission 2024 - Dates, Form, Online Process, Fees

IIT Kanpur admission process for the academic year 2024 has started. JEE Main 2024 session 2 will be conducted from April 4 to April 15, 2024. B.Tech candidates who have qualified JEE Main will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced for IIT Kanpur admissions 2024. The registration window for JEE Advanced 2024, will open on April 21, 2024, and close on April 30, 2024. The examination is scheduled for May 26, 2024. For aspirants seeking admission at IIT Kanpur for MDes courses, CEED 2024 result is out and candidates can download their scorecard on March 11, 2024. UCEED 2024 result is also out. Candidates who have applied for IIT Kanpur admission should note that the CEED 2024 results are available on ceed.iitb.ac.in, UCEED 2024 results are available on uceed.iitb.ac.in and can be checked by logging in using their registered email id and password.

 Candidates for the M-Tech and M.S by Research programs must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science or a Master's degree in science with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks/5.5 CPI GATE score. Candidates having a B-Tech/B.S (Four Year) degree from an IIT with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years of B-Tech/B.S are exempt from the GATE requirement (Four Year)  Applicants with a B.Sc. (3-year) or equivalent with a minimum of 75 percent marks/7.5 CPI may be considered for admission to MS (Research) in CSE.

• IIT Kanpur will accept the JAM 2024 scores for admission to its M.Sc programme in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, and, M.Sc-PhD Dual Degree in Physics. 
• The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) will be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) in 2024. 
• The exam will be held in a Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

IIT Kanpur Admission B.Tech and B.S in 2024 

IIT Kanpur provides four-year B-Tech and B.S. programs in science and technology. Students who achieve a high JEE Advanced score will be considered for B-Tech and B.S programs. Both the BTech and B.S. programs are only available in full-time regular format. 

Counselling is used to determine final admittance (JoSAA). BTech in ten specializations and BS in four disciplines are available at IIT Kanpur. 

JEE Advanced Qualifying Cutoff 2021 

JEE Advanced exam scores determine B.Tech admissions to IITs. Students who score at least a certain amount in the JEE Main exam are qualified to take the respected exam. The minimum qualifying mark for the Unreserved category (General category) is 87.992241, with a maximum qualifying value of 100. Those who have met the required cutoff marks and have a rank of less than 2.5 lakh are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2021.

How to apply for a B-Tech or B.S. degree 

Documentation is required. 

• Passport photograph scanned in JPG/JPEG format (size 10–200 kb) 
• Signature scanned in JPG/JPEG format (length: 4 kb–30 kb)

Steps to Apply for a B-Tech/B.S. Degree 

• Enter your Email ID and Mobile Number in the JEE Advanced Online Application Form on the official website of JEE Advanced. 
• Take note of the Application Number created by the system and displayed on the screen. 
• Create a password and a Security Question, as well as the answer.
• Once the password is created and the application number is recorded, the Candidate can log in again and start filling out the application form.  
• Fill in the requested personal and academic information and the scanned images of photographs and signatures. 
• Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI/PAYTM are all acceptable payment methods for the application cost. The application will be deemed informed only after successful payment confirmation, and the Candidate can print the Confirmation Page. 
• For future reference, keep this hard copy version of the application form.  

IIT Kanpur BS Cutoff 2024 (Expected)

Note: 

• After the sixth semester, B.Tech/B.S. students can apply for the M.Tech/M.S./MBA program in the same or a different department. It is referred to as Dual Degree Programs, and it consists of a combination of the previously stated UG and PG programs. 
• To be eligible, students must not have any backlogs and have a minimum CPI of 6.0. The move, however, is contingent on the availability of seats in the preferred PG program. 

M-Tech and M.S (Research) Admissions at IIT Kanpur in 2024  

IIT Kanpur provides a full-time regular M-Tech program in 13 specialties. It also provides a research-based M.S. program in nine things. Both programs have a two-year duration. Students are admitted to M-Tech programs based on their performance in the GATE Examination, followed by counseling and an interview. 

How can I apply for an M-Tech or M.S. (Research) program

The following documents are required: 

•  A pdf file including a scanned copy of the Eligibility Certificate.
• Degree Certificates, Provisional Certificates, and Certificates from the Head of Department/Institute formats are all available on the GOAPS website. 
• PwD Certificate (if relevant) scanned in pdf format 
• Certificate of dyslexia (if applicable) scanned in pdf format
• Scanned passport-size photos of the candidate in JPEG format, ranging from 480640 to 240320 pixels. 
• In JPEG format, scanned signature photos might range from 160 560 to 80 280 pixels. 

The application procedure is as follows: 

• To register for the exam, fill out the Online Application form.
• Create a unique ID and password by filling in the login information.
• Enter personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents' name, parents' mobile number, etc.) after logging in with the unique ID and password. 
• Upload your photo, signature, and any other documents, such as an eligibility certificate, a certificate of the category (SC/ST/PwD), and a certificate of dyslexia. 
• Enter the GATE paper (topic) and the cities where they want to take the exam. 
• Pay the application fee using any of the electronic payment options.
• Male candidates must pay 1500 Rs, while female/SC/ST/OBC candidates must pay 750 Rs. 
• After they've submitted the application form, check its status.

Qualifying Cutoff for GATE 2024 

The qualifying cutoff for GATE 2024 is the minimum score needed to register for COAP 2024 counseling. There is a distinction between the institute's entrance cutoff and the minimum cutoff for participation in the admission process/counseling.

How to apply for M.Sc and Dual Degree(M.Sc-Ph.D)

Documents Required 

• Scanned passport photo (maximum size: 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm or 480 x 640 pixels). The file size should be between 5 and 200 kilobytes.)
• Scanned sign (2 cm × 7 cm or 160×560 in pixels maximum). The file size should be between 5 and 100 KB.)
• A computer with good internet connectivity.  

Application Process 

• Visit the official website. 
• Fill out the form by providing the candidate's name, email address, and phone number. Make a password for yourself as well.
• An Enrolment ID will be given to the cellphone number after the registration form is submitted.
• Using this enrolment ID, log in and enter the details like academic, personal, choice of papers, test center, etc.  
• Submit the application form and pay the application cost online.
• Later on, check the status of the application form to see if it was approved or refused.
• Candidates will be able to download their admission cards later via the same login link.

Note:

• Final-year students are welcome to apply for the program because they will be offered temporary admission. The candidate's final admission will be completed once proof of having taken final examinations on the day of registration is provided.

IIT Kanpur MBA Admission 2024 

IIT Kanpur offers a full-time MBA program for two years in the Industrial & Management Engineering Department. The program is offered in areas like Manufacturing Management and Service Management and the functional areas of Operations, Systems, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resource Management. Admission is made based on the CAT score, followed by the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.

The aggregate score is used to make the MBA admission decision. The average score depends on many factors like academic profile, job profile, etc. As a result, the needed minimum CAT cutoff for admission for general category candidates is 93 percentile in aggregate and 50 percentile in each part.

How to apply for MBA

Candidates can apply for the programs through online mode only. Candidate has to register online by providing their personal, academic details, submitting a photograph and signature along with all the required information. They need to pay an application fee of Rs 1600 (General and OBC applicants)/ Rs 800 (SC/ST and Physically Disabled) through a demand draft payable to 'Registrar IIT Kanpur' payable at Kanpur. 

IIT Kanpur M.Des Admission 2024 

IIT Kanpur also offers Masters's program in Design (M.Des) in regular full-time mode. Admission to the program is made through CEED/ GATE score. Candidates must have completed their Bachelor's Degree in Design specialization. Final access to these programs is granted based on counselling and an interview. 

The program does not accept candidates with fine art or interior design backgrounds. Final-year students can apply if they submit their original degree-related credentials before September. The institute will undertake a second round of screening based on the CEED results. If this is the case, it will be communicated to the shortlisted individuals. Selected candidates will get an acceptance letter based on their performance in the screening round, CEED scores, and previous academic performance.

How to apply for M.Design 

• Online registration is available via the institute's official website. Fill out the application form with their personal and academic information. Mention their address, their program, and their CEED score.
• As specified in the application form, upload a cover letter and other required papers.
• Pay the Rs 400 (General/ OBC) and Rs 200 (SC/ ST/ PwD) application fees.
• Submit the application form and print a physical copy of it.

Financial Assistance: Students in the M.Des program will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 12,400 for 8 hours of labour per week. 

IIT Kanpur Dual Degree Admission 2024 

Students can acquire a bachelor's and master's degree in five years at IIT Kanpur. The institute offers three types of Dual-Degree programs:

Category A: In this Category, both degrees are in the same department/discipline. The institute offers two combinations under this Category, which include: 

• B.Tech+M.Tech 
• B.S+M.S 

Category B: The Bachelor's degree is in the same discipline/department as the Master's degree, however the Master's degree is in a separate discipline/department. The institute offers six options in this category, including:

• Students may apply for the Category A dual degree program after their fifth, sixth, or seventh semester, but only once after their sixth semester for Category B and C.
• In April and November of each year, the DoSAA office will accept Dual Degree applications in all three categories.
• Eligible students should fill up the prescribed Dual Degree application form and send it to the Chairperson, SUGC, by the deadline. 
• Completed application forms should be sent to the DoSAA office's UG division by the deadline.
• DoSAA will handle completed application forms received by the deadline after the semester's results have been announced and delivered to the appropriate departments. Departments must submit their results to the DoSAA office by the day before the next semester's registration period.
• Students who have been accepted into the Dual Degree program will be notified before the deadline for Final Registration in the semester following the application submission.

IIT Kanpur PhD Admission 2024 

IIT Kanpur provides research-based Doctoral programs (PhD) in various specializations. A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is required, and a valid GATE score. 

The institute also offers admission based on the Departmental written test followed by access. NET-qualified candidates are eligible for scholarship assistance.

The candidates who aim to join the undergraduate programmes of Engineering and Science, i.e. B.Tech and B.Sc programmes, will be required to meet the eligibility criteria for B.Tech and B.Sc at IIT Kanpur. IIT Kanpur M.Sc and M.Sc + Ph.D. Application Process 2024

The candidates will be required to fill in the application form and submit the application form as well. Once the application form has been submitted, the candidates will then be asked to pay the application form fee. After the payment of the application form fee, the application process for M.Sc and M.Sc + Ph.D. at IIT Kanpur will be completed.

IIT Kanpur M.Sc and M.Sc + PhD Selection Process 2024

The selection process for M.Sc and M.Sc + Ph.D. at IIT Kanpur is simple. The selection of candidates is solely based on a candidate's performance in the IIT JAM exam or Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. 

Candidates must have passed B.Tech/B.Des from IIT with a minimum 7.0/10 CPI or 4-year B.Tech/ B.Des/ B.Arch/ Bachelors in Interior Design with a minimum 6.0/10 CPI or 55% marks or 4 years Professional Diploma in Design from NID with a minimum 6.0/10 CPI or 55% marks from a recognized university.

IIT Kanpur MBA Eligibility 

Eligibility for the program is a bachelor’ Degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 65% marks (55% marks for SC/ST/PD) from a recognized university. The candidate must also have a valid CAT score to be eligible and be shortlisted for the program. A score with 85+ percentile is preferred as the minimum score for shortlisting candidates. Final-year students who will graduate by 2021 or who are in the process of doing so can also apply.

B-Tech/B.S. Eligibility at IIT Kanpur 

Candidates applying for the B-Tech/B.S. program must have finished 10+2 education from a recognized board and be in the top 20% of their class. They must also have a JEE Advanced score that is genuine. 

Ph.D. (Engineering) Eligibility Criteria

Master's degree in engineering with a minimum of 75 percent marks/7.5 CPI and a valid GATE score OR Bachelor's degree in engineering or science (4-year program) with a minimum of 75 percent marks/7.5 CPI and a valid GATE score OR Master's degree in science or an allied area while meeting each of the three criteria:

(a) a master's degree with a minimum of 65 percent marks/6.5 CPI, 

(b) a bachelor's degree with a first division, and 

(c) GATE score of JRF/95 percentile or better. Candidates holding a bachelor's degree in Engineering/Design/Architecture must have a valid GATE score. Candidates with a master's degree in science must have a good GATE score or be JRF/NET qualified

Ph.D (Science) Eligibility Criteria

A master's degree in the relevant area, a bachelor's degree in engineering or science, or a master's degree in sciences, with marks/CPI that do not fall below the minimum requirements. The candidate must either have a valid GATE score or be a qualified JRF/NET candidate. Candidates with a master's degree in science/arts from a recognized university are exempt from the GATE/JRF/NET requirements. IITs with a minimum CPI of 8.0.
