About Institute of Home Economics

The results of the Common University Entrance Exam (CUET) will be used to choose applicants for UG and PG programmes at the Institute of Home Economics in 2023. Dates for the CUET UG 2023 exams have been released by NTA. The CUET Undergraduate 2023 Exam will be held from May 21 to May 31, 2023. The CUET UG 2023 application form will be made available by NTA in the first week of February 2023. Apply online at cuet.samarth.ac.in, the organization's official website, if you're interested.  The CUET PG 2023 examination will be given between June 1 and June 10, 2023. Around the middle of March 2023, the exam's application form will be made available.

For all UG and PG programmes, NTA's Common University Entrance Exam (CUET) results will be used to determine Institute of Home Economics admissions 2024. Applicants who want to enrol in undergraduate programmes must take the CUET UG test, while those who want to enrol in graduate programmes must take the CUET PG exam. From the 2024 academic year forward, the Delhi University Entrance Exam (DUET) will no longer be used for PG admissions. Admission to the Institute of Home Economics PhD programme will be determined on the candidate's performance in the Delhi University entrance test. Institute of Home Economics fees vary on the basis of the course type and duration.

All qualified applicants must submit an application on Delhi University admission site for all UG and PG programmes as soon as the CUET results are available. They also have to choose which curriculum and college they desire. The Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) site will be used for Institute of Home Economics UG seat assignments, while PG choices will be made using the institute's merit list for both entrance- and merit-based admissions. Fabindia, Nitra Organisation (ISO 9001 certified company), FICCI, Genpact, Wipro, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co.  Ltd etc. are the top recruiters at Institute of Home Economics placement.

Half of the available seats for PG admissions will be distributed depending on performance in the qualifying test. Only individuals who earned their bachelor's degree from Delhi University are eligible for this merit-based alternative. The candidate's performance in the CUET PG test will determine how the remaining 50% of the seats are filled. Moreover, 50% of the seats allocated for applicants in the SC/ST/OBC/EWS category are provided by the Institute of Home Economics. Institute of Home Economics courses offered are both UG and PG.

The application process for the Institute of Home Economics admission is entirely online. Application for admission must be made online at the official website. Following e-counseling, admission to UG courses is based on CUET results. To qualify for the offered UG courses, applicants must pass both their 10th and 12th grade exams with a minimum combined grade point average of 40%. The eligibility requirements for each programme differ from course to course. 

The candidate's CUET scores will be taken into account when calculating the overall score based on the program-specific topic combinations for determining merit and granting admission to undergraduate programmes.

Delhi University Entrance Exam is used for Institute of Home Economics PG admission (DUET). According to DU admission rules, 50% of seats are set aside for DU students, and DUET will be used to provide admission to such students. Applicants can apply for an Institute of Home Economics MA program through the DUET entrance test if they have a bachelor's degree.

  • Institute of Home Economics Library: There are now 22,500 resources in the library's collection, including textbooks, reference books, theses, and back issues of publications in the subject of home science. 40 national and international journals are subscribed to by the library. A Book Bank with 615 books is also available at the library.
  • Institute of Home Economics Delhi Computer Lab: Students, researchers, and teachers can utilize the institute's three computer laboratories, each of which contains 120 PCs with the newest software and internet access. The computer lab hosts several classes for undergraduate and graduate students that call for computer use.
  • Institute of Home Economics Gymnasium: The institution features a well-equipped, air-conditioned gym that can accommodate the demands of students interested in working out in a healthy way. Institute of Home Economics Academic & Industry Collaborations

On 16th March 2016, the academic and placement committee collaborated with ‘Inception Group’ who is the pioneers and specialists in Employ-ability evaluation and placements. Inception group is liasioned with the most sophisticated brands like American Express, Encore Capital Group, Wipro and Indigo Airways and the participating industries are Media, Hospitality, IT, BPO’s/KPO’s, NGO’s etc. They nurture employability skills and offer a specific training and recruitment programs to the college students by making tie-ups with further corporate in different sectors. This will help the students in realising the job market needs as per the current trends and scenario. Inception group is lead by the experienced professionals and subject matter experts. Mr Vivek Narain and Mr. Rahul visited the premises of IHE to orient the students about this unique training and placement drive. They came with an extensive background of around 15 years in educating, learning and training and are certified behavioral trainers. They briefed the students that Inception group primarily worked for the youth and helped in making them job ready and culturally fit for the corporate industry. The students of final year were asked to attend the session wherein, they were informed about the genesis of inception group, ideology, collaborations, registration procedures and screening criteria for further training and development. Sessions were conducted in three different batches due to the large number of student’s participation. More than 130 students showed their keenness and registered themselves for undergoing the next level of evaluation i.e. Screening test and GD/PI which were held on 18th March 2016. The students actively participated in all the activities, which reflected their enthusiasm and motivation. The Inception Group has been instrumental in promoting and educating the students for their corporate job requirements A follow up of these activities is in the process to facilitate placement of students in various sectors.
