Overall: Jhalawar Medical College is like another good college in Rajasthan. It is generally preferred after Ajmer, kota due to distance, and less connectivity. Otherwise college is better than Ajmer, and Kota. Academic wise, all departments are strict and takes classes regularly (unlike other medical Colleges). Fests are slightly rare, distractions are less. But college is evolving
Placement: Jmc is known for better PG ratio because of good study environment, less distractions and supportive staff. Many PGs are themselves UG student of JMC.
Infrastructure: New hostels are being made, some are started. New LT is work in progress (since 4 yrs), canteen is now open (2 canteens in fact), excellent central library+ good Departments
Faculty: Most of the departments are well equipped with staff, professors and PGs. All are supportive and helping in nature. Some are very strict related to attendance but it is good for students well being
Hostel: Old hostels are similar to what you would expect from a govt college, but new ones are so much better. They also have single rooms. However current reality is , these are only for girls.
Overall: Jhalawar is a small town in southern Rajasthan. The medical College, Jhalawar is located in the main city. The hospital is adjoined with the college which makes transportation a lot easier.Jhalawar Medical College has 200 seats for undergraduate MBBS course. Admissions are taken through NEET UG examination. Talking about Post Graduation,it has PG courses in almost all specialties. Admissions are taken through NEET PG. College campus is fine, the city is small but surrounded by rivers and forests which is a bounty for nature lovers. College life here is decent. Although it does lack at several parameters.
Placement: Concept of placements doesn't work in medical field. Here you get a salary of approximately 20k during your internship. Thereafter you can either work in some hospital, open your own clinic or go for MD or MS and do a specialisation. This is the most preferred option as doing a speciality is must in today's competitive era. Salary during PG at this college varies from 75k-100k per month according to your branch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is almost same as most of the medical Colleges of Rajasthan. It is quite average. Sports facilities and grounds aren't much developed. Labs aren't fully furnished. This is a 16 year old institute. So the college buildings are a bit tarnished. On a good note, efforts are being made,a new skill lab development is on the way; construction of a cancer speciality ward and a large trauma centre is also in the process. The hospital is adjoined with the college which makes transport a lot easier. So,these are the pros and cons of infrastructure of JMC.
Faculty: Faculty members are quite experienced and skilled in their work. Most of the professors hold an MBBS,MD degree and other associate professors atleast have a PhD in their respective subjects. Faculty is appointed by RUHS board. So, overall faculty is the best thing about JMC.
Hostel: Hostels aren't provided in first year for male students. However, girls are alloted a Fully furnished new hostel with all the basic amenities. The boys hostels are old and require renovation. Mess is not fully functional but tiffin services are available.
