Objectives of Eco club of the College:
To Motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees and campus cleaning Programme.
To Promote ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.
To Motivate students to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation, source separation of waste and disposing the waste to the nearest storage point.
To Educate students to create awareness amongst public and sanitary workers, so as to stop the indiscriminate burning of waste which causes respiratory diseases.
To Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public places as they choke drains and sewers, cause water logging and provide breeding ground for mosquitoes
To Organize awareness programmes such as Quiz, essay writing, painting competitions, rallies, etc. regarding various environmental issues and educate children about re-use of waste material & preparation of products out of waste
To Organize Nature Trail in Wild Life Sanctuaries/Parks/Forest areas to know about the Bio-diversity.
K. K. DAS College’s N.S.S. (National Service Scheme) Unit has been opened in 2010. “NOT ME, BUT YOU” is the motto of N.S.S. The Unit has got University reputation from very beginning. One can join Unit in 1st year by visiting N.S.S Room.
Infrastructure: K.K. Das College in Kolkata provides adequate infrastructure to support academic activities and student engagement. The campus features well-maintained classrooms, laboratories equipped with modern equipment, a library stocked with a diverse collection of books and research materials, and facilities for extracurricular activities. While the infrastructure may not be the most modern, it fulfills the essential requirements for a conducive learning environment.
