MIT World Peace University, also known as MIT WPU, is one of India's most distinguished private engineering and management universities, having been listed and recognised by various prestigious national rating bodies. MIT WPU has been ranked 94th in the pharmacy category in the NIRF Ranking List 2023. Its NIRF Ranking in 2022 was 87th in pharmacy and 116th in the engineering category. In NIRF Engineering Rankings 2021, the institute was placed 150th for its B.Tech programmes. Apart from that, the institute is ranked 2nd in the west zone of India for its management programme and 16th position in the Times of India Rankings 2022 for its MBA programmes. Additionally, the university offers good placement aid to its students. In 2022, more than 500 organisations came to the university to recruit fresh graduates. MIT WPU highest package was Rs 51.36 lakh per annum.
MIT WPU started its journey in 1983 as the MAEER's Maharashtra Institute of Technology. Today, MIT WPU courses include UG and PG courses in engineering, law, pharmacy, management, journalism, and other disciplines. MIT WPU admission window is open now. Currently, about 50,000 students are enrolled in various courses across departments. Under its several schools, MIT-WPU provides a variety of UG and PG courses. MIT WPU conducts UG PET and PG PET for admission to various UG and PG programmes. A personal interview (PI) round is part of the university's standard selection criterion for evaluating student's talents. To apply for any MIT WPU courses, Students must complete an MIT-WPU online application form. The steps for applying are as follows:
With a total of 1260 students admitted to MIT WPU, it provides a full-time B.Tech degree in nine specialities. The entrance exam is used to choose the students for admission. The eligibility criteria for Maharashtra state students and all Indian students are the same. The university also offers lateral entry into the B.Tech degree, with the same specialities as the four-year programme. The university offers ten B.Tech specialities and electives, which are shown below, along with the intake for each.
MIT WPU offers three-year and four-year BBA and BBA (research) programmes. The programme has 240 total places available, and students are chosen based on their GD, entrance exam scores, and PI. The programme is offered in three specialities and is full-time. The table further shows the number of seats available for each specialisation:
At the undergraduate level, MIT-WPU offers B.Des, B.Sc, BCA, B.Sc (Hons), Polytechnic, B.Com, B.Pharma, B.Com (Hons), BA, B.Ed, Diploma in Photography, BA (Hons), BFA, LLB, and integrated programmes, including B.Sc-B.Ed, BBA LLB (Hons), and B.Com LLB (Hons).
Class 12 pass with 50% marks is the minimum criteria for these courses. Students for courses such as diploma in photography and polytechnic must have finished Class 12 with good grades. For LLB and B.Ed courses, a graduate degree with a 50% minimum is necessary.
Admission to UG degrees is determined by performance on the university's qualifying examination or entrance exam and additional state/national level exams and/or a personal interview.
Computer science engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering, and ECE are some of the major courses offered in the M.Tech degree at August 24, . Students are selected for admission by their entrance exam scores and previous work experience. The MIT WPU M.Tech programme has an intake of 258 in total, with a split of seats for each category/specialisation as shown in the table below:
The MIT-WPU MBA programme is a full-time for two years. The curriculum is also offered in dual specialities with three disciplines: CSR, HHM, and sports management. There are 1080 available seats for dual specialisations. Students are selected for admission based on their entrance exam scores, followed by a group discussion and a personal interview. The MIT World Peace University MBA fees are also quite affordable for students. The table below shows the capacity of intake for each subject:
MIT-WPU also provides M.Sc, MCA, M.Ed, PGDRA, M.Com, MA and MPH at the postgraduate level. A bachelor's degree with the minimum needed marks is required for all courses. Admission to PG programmes is decided by the university's MIT WPU PGPET entrance exam, which is followed by an interview or merit in the qualifying exam. The MAH-MCA-CET and GPAT exams are used to identify students for courses like MCA and M.Pharma.
NOTE: Students for the M.Pharma degree must be registered with the State Pharmacy Council. If not, they must submit the registration certificate within one month of being accepted.
MIT WPU provides only two PhD programmes: engineering and pharmacy. Students must have a master's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 55 per cent. PET - PhD Entrance Test is used for selecting students for the programme, followed by a personal interview. PET is waived for those with a valid UGC NET/SET/JRF score.

Students at MIT WPU have access to various modern and improved facilities. The MIT WPU facilities ensure that students are not inconvenienced while on campus. Men and women have separate housing facilities at the university. A library, gym, canteen, and auditorium are among the MIT-WPU Pune facilities. Cricket, badminton, basketball, table tennis, and other sports are available on campus. A medical centre is also located on the MIT WPU campus. The entire campus includes wifi connectivity for professors and students. Students can also use MIT-WPU's modern I.T. infrastructure, swimming pool, and bank/ATM.
Library: The MIT WPU library houses 75,000 books, including more than 70,000 technical books. The library subscribes to 175 titles, 12 of which are foreign, 15 newspapers, and ten magazines, which are available in the reading hall for students and staff. The library also includes a separate CD collection of around 2100 titles. Springer, IEEE, ASTM Digital Library Online, ELSEVIER (Science Direct), and EBSCO have also been subscribed to by the library.
Hostel: MIT-WPU features two separate facilities for female students, one on the MIT WPU hostel campus near the MIT male hostel that can accommodate 300 male students and the other on the MIT-WPU campus that can accommodate 175 female students. Students are assigned to hostels entirely based on merit during the first year. Priority is given to international students.
Sports Centre: Table tennis, carrom, and wrestling are also available at MIT WPU. Students have competed and won awards at the intercollegiate, university, state, and national levels. MIT World Peace University has successfully organised many sports tournaments, including inter-engineering athletic meet, basketball, cricket, table tennis, volleyball, zonal level boxing, badminton, chess, inter-professional college basketball, volleyball tournaments, and so on.

Gym: The gym is next to the campus's women's hostel. The gym is under the supervision of the Director of Physical Education. For students, the MIT WPU gym includes new and upgraded equipment.
Cafeteria: The MIT WPU canteen is spotless. It provides sanitary and nutritious food. The canteen serves Chinese, North Indian, and South Indian cuisines to students. Additionally, students have access to tea, coffee, snacks, and soft beverages.
Auditorium: At MIT Pune, there is an entirely air-conditioned auditorium with seating for 500 people. The theatre is equipped with audio-video equipment as well as a sound system. It serves as a venue for university seminars, conferences, and other activities.
Medical/Hospital: A medical centre is also part of the MIT WPU facilities. Qualified doctors and support staff work at the campus's dispensary. At regular intervals, it holds medical camps for students and academic members.
Wifi: Wifi is available throughout the MIT WPU campus for students and teachers. Students can use the internet in hostels as well. It allows students and faculty to use their mobile phones or laptops to access the internet.
Since its inception in 1983, MIT WPU has been dedicated to producing competent professionals for the national and international industries. As a result, the university has built a strong and diverse MIT WPU alumni base. In fact, MAEER's MIT Group of Institutions, Pune, has an alumni association to gather all MITians under one umbrella. Yes, MIT WPU accepts CAT scores for admission to their postgraduate management programs. MIT WPU offers several MBA specializations to eligible candidates, some of which are Marketing, Finance, International Business, Human Resource Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Banking and Financial Services, Digital Marketing, Business Analytics, etc. Aspirants need to have a valid non-zero score in the CAT 2024 exam and they also need to score at least 60% aggregate (55% for Reserved category) in Graduation in any stream from UGC approved University or equivalent in order to be eligible for admission. Candidates also need to score at least 60% aggregate marks in Class 12th and Class 10th with English as one of the main subjects. As for the minimum marks in CAT 2024 for admission to MIT WPU, the CAT cutoff for MIT WPU is expected to be 60 percentile as per previous year cutoff trends.
