About NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FOOD TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND MANAGEMENT
After the announcement of the NIFTEM Sonepat Session 2 JEE Main 2023 results in April, the NTA will release the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management JEE Main cut off 2023 percentile. According to current trends, the expected cut off for JEE Main 2023 is above 88 percentile for GN, 75+ percentile for NC-OBC and EWS, and above 45 for SC.
NIFTEM (National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management) was created by the Government of India, due to the demand of the food industry to have an apex body as a solution provider for various problems in the sector. The Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India has set up this institute with an initial investment of RS.500 crore.
The Government of India has conferred the “Institute of National Importance” status on this institute in the year 2021. NIFTEM NIRF ranking in India is 148 in the engineering category. The institute conducts education and research in the food technology and management field.
The institution offers programs including BTech, MTech, MBA, and ph.D. courses. NIFTEM admissions are based on the national-level entrance examinations including JEE Main etc. The institute was established in the year 2012 in Sonepat, Haryana. It was accredited by AICTE and UGC. To apply for the different courses:
- Visit the college's official website Navigate to the Admission section
- Select the course from the dropdown menu
- Click on the “ NIFTEM Application form tab: in the right corner of the screen
- Register with the application portal “New Applicant”
- Fill in the application Form
- If the student fulfills the eligibility criteria, he/she will be contacted by the admission team to appear for GD and PI
- The student will be interviewed by the Dean or a Senior Faculty of the Department
- On clearing all these rounds student needs to pay the fees and submit all required documents to confirm the NIFTEM admission
NIFTEM Sonepat Application Fee
The application fee has to be paid via credit/ debit card or net banking to complete the NIFTEM application process. Candidates from the Unreserved (UR)/OBC/EWS/KM categories have to provide an application fee of Rs 1000. For candidates from SC/ST/PwD categories, the application fee is Rs 500.

The college provides several scholarships to its students. NIFTEM Sonepat Scholarship is merit-based. This scholarship program is available for all courses such as B.Tech., M.Tech. and MBA.
There are two types of scholarships at this institution:
Merit-Based Scholarship: Top 3 students on merit get this scholarship from B.Tech. and one student from each M.Tech. program. The college authority pays NIFTEM Merit Scholarship during the second semester. This scholarship consists of a 10-month college tuition fee waiver and a fixed monthly income.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship: This scholarship program is only eligible for the needy students of M.Tech programs whose yearly family income is less than Rs. 2.50 L. It is provided on a merit cum means basis to the needy students.
