NIE Mysore Campus Facilities - Hostel Fees, Infrastructure, Address

For both students and staff, the National Institute of Engineering Mysore campus maintains a number of facilities for the students. A library with a sizable collection of abstracts, yearbooks, textbooks, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, and other general publications, including Kannada novels, is one of the NIE Mysore resources. Additionally, the library has paid subscriptions to many internet databases. Both a boarding facility and a separate hostel for boys and girls are available on the campus. The boys' hostel, which can house about 486 students, is located behind the NIE Mysore. On campus, there is a canteen available to both professors and students. For the benefit of the professors and students, the canteen serves a variety of foods and looks after maintenance and hygiene. The NIE Mysore campus has sports facilities for the staff and students, including those for badminton, basketball, table tennis, wrestling, judo, gymnastics, carrom, and chess. A workout centre, auditoriums, a healthcare facility, laboratories, Wi-Fi, bank facilities, and IT infrastructure are just a few of the additional NIE Mysore facilities.

• Boys Hostel: The NIE boys' hostel offers guests all the contemporary comforts required for a relaxing stay on campus. The hostel can house 486 students and has a total floor space of 72,920 square feet. The boys' hostel amenities include an open-air amphitheatre, a gym, WiFi, a communal lobby, a TV room, washing machines, and hot water geysers. The kitchen in the hostel is well-equipped, and the daily menu offers a variety of cuisines. On alternate days, there are snacks and fruits provided.
• Girls Hostel: The institute features separate female hostels. Both the Yeshvika and Yuvika females' hostels are located on campus. The hostels, which can house over 310 students and was constructed in 1984 and 2014, respectively, have capacities of 259 and 52 students, respectively. The kitchen is equipped with a central bio-fuel kitchen, separate dining areas for the two hostels, and high-quality South Indian food in an effort to promote healthy living.
• Library: Engineering-related books are widely available at the NIE Mysore library. The library's collection numbers are in the lakhs of volumes. The library has dictionaries, encyclopaedias, textbooks, yearbooks, abstracts, Kannada novels, and other general books. To accommodate the demands of students, professors, and research researchers, the library has created an open-access system and keeps an online catalogue. The 20 systems that make up the digital library have access to e-books, e-journals, NPTEL films, and other educational resources. The entire library has been computerised using LIBSOFT online library software.
• Sports: By offering a range of sports and fitness activities, the NIE Mysore campus promotes holistic student development. The college has well-equipped indoor and outdoor facilities to help students with their athletic development and sporting activities. Students at NIE have access to a variety of sports, including football, basketball, archery, yoga, and taekwondo.
• Cafeteria: A cafeteria is one of the NIE Mysore services available to the institute's personnel and students. The canteen offers a range of cuisine to faculty and students while also upholding sanitation and hygienic standards.
• Auditorium: On the campus, there are roomy auditoriums that are part of the NIE Auditorium Mysore infrastructure. The auditorium serves as the venue for a variety of events, including theatre workshops, state-level debate competitions, intercollegiate cultural festivals, talks and seminars, quiz competitions, debate competitions tackling socially relevant topics, discussions on subjects like philosophy, science, and technology, and music competitions.
• IT Infrastructure: The facilities of the institute include a well-maintained IT infrastructure. On campus, a wireless computing network has been set up to enable academics, employees, and students to access the internet whenever they want.
• Laboratories: The institute's departments each have a number of well-equipped laboratories with the latest recent gadgets and equipment. The goal is to provide students with a conceptual and practical understanding of the subject through hands-on learning.
• Gym: On the NIE Mysore campus, there are well-kept high-tech fitness centres for the convenience of the students, professors, and their families.

NIE provides a separate hostel accommodation with boarding facility for both boys and girls. The hostel for boys is situated behind the NIE Campus and it commands a strength of 400 inmates.

The hostels are equipped with all modern gadgets and facilities, including Campus wide Networking.

Any student of the Institute can enroll for NCC, which has 1 KAR ENGR COY NCC UNIT that provides normal military and technical training. The engineering cadets are taught Field Craft, Bridging, Construction of Roads, Air Fields, Helipads, Water Supply Techniques, to deal with IEDs, Mines, Explosives, etc., apart from Watermanship, Map Reading, Leadership Qualities, Role of Engineers During War, Peace, Natural Calamities is also stressed. The “C” certificate holders with “A” Grade will be eligible to join army directly. There are placement opportunities in Police, BSF and other Paramilitary forces.

The NSS Unit of our college (NIE) has a sanctioned strength of 100. A student of any branch of our college can enroll for the unit. The period of enrollment is 2 years. After two years fresh students can enroll.
The Society and nature have given us a lot of things to our lives. In turn, an individual can also give to the society and nature. In this regard, an opportunity is given to the NSS Volunteers to do a bit in this direction. The NSS activities for the student volunteers involve social activities, like Blood Donation Camps, Tree Plantation, General Health Awareness, Eradication of Drug House, AIDS Awareness programmes, Slum eradication, Removal of illiteracy, Construction of small roads, Water Tanks, etc., in villages adopted by college NSS Unit and in the city.
Apart from regular NSS activities special camps for 10 days are conducted during the vacation period.
