NIT Arunachal Pradesh Campus

The temporary campus of NIT AP is housed in a high school building in Yupia, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The building has been hired from the state government of Arunachal Pradesh. The area has a moderate temperature ranging from 13°C to 27°C and faces an annual mean rainfall of 365 mm. The nearest railway station to NIT Anurachal Pradesh is Naharlagun, which is about 3 km away from the college campus. 

The permanent campus of NIT Arunachal Pradesh is under construction at Jote, Papum Pare District of Arunachal Pradesh. NIT AP is a fully residential college and has eight hostels. Out of those eight hostels, six are for boys and two are for girls. The college provides transport facility to its students. It has 24*7 WiFi and LAN connectivity. The computer lab of the college is also well-equipped with WiFi facility. The classrooms at NIT AP have LCD projectors, video conferencing facilities, smart rooms and digital podium. The institute installed a solar plant of capacity 100 KW on 28th October 2015. The cost of installing this solar plant was RS. 2.47 crores. The institute has a modern seminar hall. Many workshops, motivational and inspirational lectures are organised there from time to time for the students.

NIT Arunachal Pradesh Hostel & Fees Structure

The Institute being an Institute of National Importance is fully residential in character. There are eight halls of residence for students in total, six for boys and two for girls. Bus facility is provided to the students for to and fro journey between institute and hostels. Internet facility is also provided to all the students in the Institute and hostels with wi-fi connectivity. The hostel are taken care of by the team of wardens, student's representative under the overall control of Hostel Provost and Dean, Student Affairs. A team of faculty members pay regular visits to the hostels for improvement and to observe anti ragging measures making the institute a zero ragging.

Students Activities & Clubs

Innovation Club -

Innovation club at National Institute of Technology was established on 21st November 2014 and it was officially inaugurated by the Honourable President of India Shri Pranab Mukharjee at NIT Yupia, Arunachal Pradesh during first convocation of the institute. The prime purpose for creating this innovation club is:

  • To have a club/section for the development and creation of products and innovations which may be useful and work efficiently.
  • To inculcate in the students mind, a nature of inventors.
  • To encourage the students to target National and International Competitions and win such events.
  • To have seminars of idea shared frequently without disturbing the institute infrastructure and curricular activities.
  • To develop solutions for industrial problems so that the Institute Industry interaction strengthens which would create more Placement Opportunities.

This club has initiated an innovation practices among the students right from its inception, one innovative exhibition was conducted, where number of innovative ideas were shared, like homemade herbal grinding machine, low cost local brick manufacturer machine etc. Under the motivation of the club, students has made some innovative gadgets out of junk which was also placed for exhibition such as Laptop cooler, Luxurious chair etc.


NSS Club -

The Planning Commission sanctioned an outlay of 5 crores for National Service Scheme (NSS) during the Fourth Five Year Plan. It was stipulated that the NSS programme should be started as a pilot project in select institutions and universities. On September 24, 1969, the then Union Education Minister Dr.V.K.R.V.Raio, launched the NSS programme in 37 universities covering all States and simultaneously requested the Chief Ministers of States for their cooperation and held. It was appropriate that the programme was started during the Gandhi Centenary Year as it was Gandhi ji who inspired the Indian youth to participate in the movement for Indian independence and the social uplift of the downtrodden masses of our nation.

Infrastructure should be improved

Infrastructure: There are not even seprate building for separate department.Electrical and electronics and communication department have common building but now for separate building work is in progress and it is expected to complete in 2025.Hostel infrastructure is good in comparison to academic building.But now they are working on academic building too.Biggest library in the north-east is inaugurated in our college.

Hostel: Here there are 3 students in 1 room.fan,wifi,geyser,cold and normal water are available in our hostel.one general store for books, pens etc.is also available.food in our hostel is good but can be better.
