NIT Durgapur Scholarships 2024 - Details, Eligibility, Amount

NIT Durgapur scholarships are offered for Indian students as well as Foreign students. The list below contains all the scholarships available at NIT Durgapur for each category. The table also shows the number of scholarships at NIT Durgapur.

NIT Durgapur Scholarships

• Only the Institute-sponsored research scholars will receive the NIT Durgapur Institute Scholarship at a rate in accordance with the directives from appropriate authorities. Institute Scholarships shall be governed by the rules of MHRD and the Institute.
• The maximum period for which an institute-sponsored research scholar shall receive the Institute Scholarship will be as per MHRD norms.
• All institute research scholars shall apply for enhancement of NIT Durgapur Scholarships at least one month before the completion of two years from the date of joining. They will submit a summary of the progress of their work to the Chairman, DSC through their supervisor(s) and deliver a seminar. The recommendation of the DSC will be forwarded to Dean (R&C) immediately after the completion of two years.
• Subject to the favourable recommendation of the DSC, the research scholar shall be eligible for an enhanced scholarship from the date of completion of two years from the date of joining.
• In case the recommendation of the DSC is not favourable, the candidate may deliver a fresh seminar within three months from the previous one for consideration of enhancement in scholarship.
• In the case of a scholarship funded by an external agency or a sponsored research project operating in the Institute, the rules for the scholarship shall be governed by the provisions specified by the sponsor.

NIT Durgapur scholarships are offered to meritorious students.  Candidates are eligible for scholarships at NIT Durgapur on the basis of their scores in the qualifying examinations. The scholarship worth Rs.8000 is given to full-time GATE qualified candidates who wish to opt for the M.Tech programme at the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur.
