About IIT Indore
Located at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, IIT Indore aims to attain this mission with humanistic interests. IIT Indore Courses and Admission 2024
Courses at IIT Indore include undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in engineering, architecture, sciences, arts, humanities, social science, commerce, computer application, information technology, design and animation. IIT Indore courses include B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, five-year B.Tech+M.Tech, MS (Research), and PhD. At the end of the last semester of the B.Tech programme, IIT Indore gives an option to convert B.Tech into an integrated B.Tech+M.Tech programme of five years.

IIT Indore releases the schedule for admission in various courses, and students must complete IIT Indore registration process for the courses as specified by the institute. At the same time, students must satisfy the IIT Indore eligibility criteria specified by the institute to register for various courses. Before applying for any of the courses, students need to check the eligibility criteria thoroughly, and only if they can meet the criteria, they should proceed with the IIT Indore application process. JEE Advanced is the basis for IIT Indore B.Tech admission. Admission to M.Tech requires GATE, while M.Sc. requires IIT JAM.

IIT Indore Eligibility Criteria 2024
- For B.Tech: Students must pass Class 12 from a recognised board with Mathematics, chemistry, and physics as compulsory subjects and any optional subject from, biology, biotechnology, or computer. In addition, JEE Main and Advanced scores are required along with higher secondary certification.
- For M.Tech and M.Sc : PG courses require a bachelor’s degree in a relevant stream minimum aggregate of 60% (55% in the SC/ST/PWD category). In addition, GATE and IIT JAM scores are required along with graduation certificates for M.Tech and M.Sc. admission, respectively.
- For PhD: For PhD admission at IIT Indore, students should have a qualifying score in GATE, NET, CSIR or JRF test along with a master’s degree in Sciences or M.Tech in the relevant stream from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate of 60% (55% in case of SC/ST/PWD category)
For IIT Indore B.Tech admissions
- Selection criteria: JEE Advanced score/rank are required for admission. Qualified candidates of JEE Advanced will be called for the online counselling session..
- Eligibility criteria: Students must have a senior secondary pass certificate with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) from a recognised university with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects.
For IIT Indore M.Tech admissions
- Selection criteria: Valid score in GATE entrance exam followed by COAP Counselling.
- Eligibility criteria: Must have completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field with at least 8.5/ 6.25 for General and SC/ST, respectively (For IITs Graduates) and a minimum 60% aggregate if candidates are graduated from non-IITs.
For IIT Indore M.Sc admissions
- Selection Criteria: The IIT JAM entrance examination scores are used to select candidates for the M.Sc programme. Previous academic records are taken into account while determining the final merit list.
- Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised university with at least 60% marks. (55% for SC/ST) to be eligible for admission to the IIT Indore M.Sc. programme.
For IIT Indore PhD admissions
- Selection criteria: Candidates who have been shortlisted are then needed to face the IIT Indore PhD interview. Based on their performance in the last qualifying exams and entrance exam, candidates will be invited to a personal interview round for further consideration. The entrance exams for PhD admission at IIT Indore are UGC/ CSIR NET (JRF) examination, SET, GATE (with a valid score), or Teacher Research Fellowship. The final merit list is compiled using a combination of entrance tests, interviews, and academic record scores. Statement of Purpose (SOP) and Letter of Recommendation (LOR) must be submitted by the applicant before the interview
- Eligibility criteria: Candidates must have received at least 7 CGPA in the required disciplines (without rounding off) in their master’s degree from universities/ institutions accredited by the UGC / AICTE / NCTE to be considered for this programme.
IIT Indore Application Process 2024
Every year, the admissions in IIT Indore UG and PG courses begin in May, while the common application process starts in April. For PhD, the admission takes place twice a year, January and July. Students who are interested in a particular course can apply online.
The IIT Indore online application process has been started for M.Tech/MSc/MSR Programmes. Candidates interested in applying for admission should go to the IIT Indore official website to fill out the application form and pay the application fee. For all courses, the IIT Indore application fee is Rs 800. The following is the IIT Indore application process:
IIT Indore UG admission process
The admission to UG programmes at IIT Indore is made based on Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) rank, which then is administered by a centralised counselling process that JoSAA conducts at the all-India level in which candidates are allowed to choose the institution and course of their choice. Then, admission is granted based on their rank in JEE advanced and seat availability in the institution. For further updates, students need to check the college website like physical reporting, fee payment, class commencement etc.
IIT Indore PG admission process
The admissions to PG programmes at IIT Indore are based on GATE and IIT JAM rank for M.Tech and M.Sc courses, respectively. When the entrance exam results are out, candidates can apply for the same on the IIT Indore admission portal after checking their eligibility. Besides filling out the IIT Indore admission application form, students are required to register at COAP. All participating National Importance institutes publish seat allotment results on this portal only. Once they are granted admission to the institution of their choice, candidates need to follow the college website for further updates regarding physical reporting and fee payment.
IIT Indore PhD admission process
Admission in IIT Indore PhD programmes is based on UGC/ CSIR NET (JRF) examination, SET, GATE (with a valid score), or Teacher Research Fellowship scores. As the application for admission is out on the IIT Indore official website, candidates must follow the following process:

- Click on PhD admission.
- Register yourself with a valid phone number and email id
- Login to the portal with credentials sent to your mail id

The 501-acre IIT Indore campus has everything a student will need for their development. The campus has been upgraded with a SMART card facility. The card serves as an identity proof for students that enable them to access books through the library, and to labs. It can also be used as a debit card at the campus restaurant, printing, scanning and photocopying services, parking area, buy tickets on the market bus, use it in the dispensary, pay an overdue fee in the library, pay tuition fees and miscellaneous fees, manage attendance etc.

All the students belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories are exempted from paying the course tuition fee irrespective of their family income. IIT Indore scholarships and financial assistance are for all of its students who are studying various UG and PG courses in a regular mode. However, the student is required to meet the minimum eligibility and merit to avail of the IIT Indore scholarships facilities. Merit Cum Means Scholarship:
- This scholarship is for B.Tech and M.Sc students who belong to General and OBC Categories
- The family annual income of General and OBC students should be less than 5 lakh and 8 lakh respectively to avail the same.
- Top 25% of students are chosen for this scholarship on the basis of their merit in the entrance exam
- Samsung Star Scholarship:

IIT Indore Curriculum
IIT Indore Curriculum is based on teaching students application-based. The course curriculum is designed by industry demand so that students are industry-ready from the start of their course. On joining the institute, each student is assigned to a faculty advisor who provides guidance and suggestions related to the academic, professional, and personal growth to the assigned student.
