In collaboration with the Department of Geography, Gauhati University and Osaka Gokin University of Japan, the college established a Rain Gauge Station in 2006. Its prime purpose is to analyze the trend of rainfall in this part of the state.The college was selected in the year 2006 to set up a RoT by the CEC (Consortium of Educational Communication),New Delhi. With this, the college is now able to receive the Edusat Programme, which is a joint venture of IGNOU, ISRO, DS&T, NCERT etc.The college has a Senior Wing Girls’ NCC (Army Wing) affiliated to 8 Assam BN NCC, Nagaon with a cadet strength of 50.This cell conducts all sports events. There are volleyball and badminton grounds in the compound.Nowgong Girls’ College has a well equipped computer centre with internet Connection. Library and Office have their own computer system managing day-to-day activities. The students of the college are provided with the facilities of internet at a very nominal cost of Rs. 10.00 per 45 minutes.In the line of Women Study Centre of Gauhati University,this college has also established Women’s Study Cell in 2003. The core objective of the centre is the promotion of gender studies, acceleration of women empowerment and gender equality.It is a forum of the students and the teachers in the Department of Assamese, Nowgong Girls’ College. The Forum organizes Seminar, Workshop, Lectures etc. regularly in every year on literature, language and folk culture of Assam.
