Overall: College has good on campus placements due to its long history i guess. But things are changing in terms of education. Teachers are interested in just finishing the syllabus and not on imparting proper Technical knowledge.
Placement: Only thing keeping PEC alive is it's legacy and placements. The placements are good compared to other colleges in the vicinity. Good MNCs offering good packages come to hire a lot of students. Even companies like JPMC and Airbus are kind of mass recruiter here. Even though core companies coming to campus are less compared with non technical sector.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is just fine. The labs have been same for almost a few decades and there are no signs of improvement. Many machines don't work. ACs still not have been installed in most of the classrooms.
Faculty: The good faculty who had a lot of experience, knowledge and zeal for teaching are all almost retired and new faculty is appointed. The problem with new faculty is they aren't experienced and can't connect with the students and don't teach efficiently. They don't focus of technical understanding and engineering application rather they just want to get done with their work asap.
Hostel: Currently there are 4 hostels for the boys and 2 for the girls. The boys hostels don't have enough capacity to accommodate all the students. The rooms are small but are occupied more than their capacity. But new hostels are being built. I think hostel fees is a bit on the expensive side for what they offer.
Overall: Punjab Engineering College is overall good college. Average placement is of Rs.7 Lakhs per annum. Highest package goes upto Rs. 83 Lakhs per annum. Its cultural and technical fest is one of the biggest fest in North India. Campus life is good because of Clubs and Technical Societies.
Placement: Roughly around 80% of students get placed every year. Remaining students either go for higher studies or study to crack Government Jobs. Average package is Rs.7 lakhs per annum. Various big companies like Goldman sachs, Bain, Mckinsey, Atlassian comes for placements for job profiles SDE, Analyst, Junior Analyst.
Infrastructure: Labs are very old. Most of the times machines are not working properly in the labs. Classrooms are good. Each classroom is equipped with AC's and a smart monitor to present PPTs and play Video and Audio.
Faculty: Faculty members have done their MTech and Phd's from IITs. These itself tell you about the faculty quality. Each faculty member has been assigned only few subjects of their interest. They teach us in a way so that we can crack GATE and PSU exams.
Hostel: Hostels are very old. There are total of 4 Boys hostel and 2 girls hostel. Hostels have huge capacity and can accomodate all students. Hostel rooms are spacious but not cleaned regularly. Hostel washrooms are not cleaned everyday. Their condition is pathetic.
