About IIT Palakkad
Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, is a public university inaugurated in 2015 and is one of the more recent IITs in Kerala. It has been divided into two campuses - a temporary campus at Ahalia Integrated Campus, Palakkad, and a permanent one in Nila, Kanjikode, where academic sessions began in 2019. IIT Palakkad was founded by the director of IIT Palakkad, Dr. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, who is also mentoring the new campus. IIT Palakkad has also placed many of its learned and experienced professors on the Palakkad campus. As a result, the institute now has about 157 teaching and non-teaching staff.
There are currently two batches of undergraduate students studying on this campus. The campus offers its students the necessary facilities, including modern classrooms, conference halls, and well-equipped laboratories for their creative and curious minds. IIT Palakkad courses offered apart from B.Tech and M.Tech include MS programmes in all engineering disciplines. In addition, there are also many research and PhD programmes in science and engineering fields at IIT Palakkad.

IIT Palakkad witnesses more than 100 engaging companies in the placement season. Last year, about 120 placement offers were made to the students of IIT Palakkad in companies like Google, TCS Research, Zoom, L&T Groups, etc. Offers with more than 20 lakh CTC and international offers were also made to a few students by Marimba Auto. With most of the IIT Palakkad placements coming from the IT sector, core science and data analysis also showed a reasonable interest. There are IIT Palakkad internships across various sectors like research and development, consulting, government, etc. Major recruiters like Adobe, L&T Infotech, Texas Instruments, etc. also participated in the IIT Palakkad placement drive.

IIT Palakkad Admission Process 2024
Aspirants seeking admissions must follow the below-mentioned IIT Palakkad admission process:
- For IIT Palakkad admissions to B.Tech courses, applicants must have passed 12 examinations with more than 75% cumulative score and must clear JEE Advanced with valid scores.
- For IIT Palakkad admissions to M.Sc courses, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject and will be accepted through IIT JAM.
- As per the IIT Palakkad admission process, for M.Tech and MS courses applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject and must qualify GATE with valid marks.
- After clearing the entrance exams, applicants have to participate in the respective counselling process
- After seat allotment, applicants have to pay the fees and verify their documents.
IIT Palakkad Cutoff 2024
IIT Guwahati cutoff 2024 for JoSAA round 1 has been released. The cutoff has been released on the basis of the JEE Advanced exam in the form of opening and closing ranks. Candidates who score the minimum cutoff will be eligible for admission. The cutoff has been released for different categories and branches of BTech programmes. As per IIT Guwahati JEE Advanced cutoff 2024, the closing rank for the open category is 5556 and the OBC category is 5212. Moreover, the closing for the SC and ST categories is 1456 and 1276 respectively.

IIT Palakkad Campus Facilities and Infrastructure
IIT Palakkad operates from the Nila campus and the Ahalia campus, which are both fully functional and well-equipped campuses with up-to-date laboratories, classrooms, and seminar halls. IIT Palakkad has hostels, guest houses, wellness centres, etc. The hostel is separate for women and men, and rooms are given on a twin-sharing pattern with attached bathrooms. The guest house is located on the Ahalia campus and has 14 guest rooms with AC. An email request has to be sent to the guest house manager to book the room.
