SIP has its independent training and placement department carrying out various programs to ensure that the student is ready to face the interview and placement process.
The SIP training and placement officer (TPO) works closely with department placement coordinators to guide students in their careers and arrange for a smooth process during the placement process. Also, the department placement coordinator helps bridge the communication gap between students and the TPO.
Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic training and placement department conducts various mock tests and helps in training communication skills and personality development of the students so that they are confident while facing the interviews.

SIP placement department provides career guidance to students. Various personality development programs and entrepreneurship development programs are carried out by outsourced experts.
The mission of the placement department of Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic’s training and placement department is to motivate the students by improving their communication skills and constantly work on their personality development so that the students are confident while facing the interview.
The T&P Cell also organizes various programs to improve the entrepreneurship skills of the students, which is in alignment with its SWADIN virtue.

> Industrial training: Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic offers internship programs to final year students. According to a few alumni of the institute, 70% of students secured internships for the 2021 batch.
> Vocational Training: The placement cell, with help from departmental placement coordinators, organizes various soft skills and communication classes for the students. Group discussions, brainstorming sessions, mock interviews, etc. are conducted to help students
> Mock Tests: The placement department of Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic, Birbhum, conducts mock written aptitude and puzzle-solving tests.
> Special classes: Special classes are conducted for the students for those shortlisted for company interviews. Classes to improve communication and English are also conducted by the department.
> Seminars and Guest Lectures: In coordination with various outsourced experts, Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic organizes various seminars and guest lectures to give students industrial and practical experience.
> Industrial Visits: Industrial visit is carried out by the department placement coordinator to give students practical exposure.
The SIP placement officer, along with the branch placement coordinator, line up the company’s placement schedule according to the consent of the company.
The students are trained in the placement process by conducting group discussions, mock tests, and mock interviews so that the students are motivated and confident while facing the interview.
The placement process generally starts in the final semester. Students are encouraged to join internships for their final year projects in the 5th semester itself. The company schedule is informed well in advance by the placement department so that the students are well prepared for the interview.

SIP placement department also encourages local and small companies to participate in the placement drives.
During the Covid-19 crisis, Santiniketan Institute of Polytechnic in association with Swatirtha Charitable Trust organized a mega digital job fair for the students in 2020.
According to the SIP alumni feedback and reviews, students are encouraged to work as interns in various companies. The internship helps the students gain practical knowledge and provides valuable experience to help them in their careers. In addition, most companies recruit from the interns they hire, thus providing students an extra option for placement. Also, an internship helps in developing contacts with the people working in the core domain, which may benefit the student in his future career.
Founded in 2010, SIP has placed its students in various reputed companies all over India. Hence, they have a strong alumni network working in these reputed companies. The alumni, during their visits, help the students to understand the know-how of the placement process which will be beneficial during the placement drive.
Placement: Although the university secures placements for a majority of students (80-85%), these positions are often with large companies or startups and come with salaries between 15,000 and 20,000 rupees. Internships are offered during the summer in the first and second years.
